I am stereotyped as a thug when wearing my Yankees cap and mostly look down upon by white people in NYC. I put on the cap to cover my ball spots and because I like the Yankees but there are white people that LITERALLY hate to see minorities wearing a Yankees cap or any NY cap.

It happens bro, deal with it. You can thank the real hoods who rock the Yankees cap and are thugs for you getting crap.

I dont think its whites exclusively who do this either. The flipped yankees cap nowadays is seen as a symbol of thuggery unless the wearer clearly demonstrates its there as a symbol of being a fan. You have to admit, so many kids run around acting ghetto fab with the cap on, your gonna be guilty by association if you appear the same way.

here is the solution, wear a mets cap instead! hey, they are in first place this year and you could start a new trend and become original.

trust me, no one is hating on you or minorities for wearing yankees caps, its only the ones who clearly act suspect that the get eye

I think it's you who feel selfconcious about yourself, like most black guys do. I'm in NY more than I'm in my state, Jersey and I wear my favorite teams hat(GO YANKEES!) sometimes and I get stares from white guys and all others too, but that's just because I look yummy!
I sUGGEST YOU GET OVER YOURSELF!

Try a fedora or a different type of hat

Screw them all as long as you enjoy wearing your hat then do it.Why do you have to compromise what you like for someone else.

It's an angry, greedy, envious world. Don't take it personally.

You seem sure of this, so why are you posting it as a "question"?
