I know this is a stupid question--but you never know what will happen. I have 3 herniated disc in my back and suffer endlessly. I go to doctors who give me Vicodan ES for it. I've been on stuff as strong as Morphine but couldn't tolerate the side effects. The thing is I got laid off from work and I am paying $110 for insurance and then $20 co-pay for prescription oh yeah and a $50 co-pay to see the doctor. That is practically 1/2 of my unemployment check. Here comes the stupid part--is there any way to get Vicodin without a prescription? Preferably legally.

In aswer to Deltaqueen, I had oddly enough worked in Orthopedics for years and I saw first hand patients that had had that surgery and I would wish it on my worse enemy. More often then not, not only did it little or nothing to relieve the pain, the recovery was traumatic. S many of our patients would say they wish they had never done it. I am a lawabbiding citizen and the thought of any illegal activity terrifys mme. So I will have to continue to suffer. I thank all of you for your words of advice. God Bless

Sorry... Not legally. You can go to Mexico and get it without a prescription, but you're not supposed to. I know how it is to cut into your budget from health care. It's ridiculous the amount we have to pay. I pay $159 a month, &25 co-pay, and my vicodin is about $8-$10 a month. It's a lot when you can't work. I had to quit my job 2 months ago and can't get unemployment. Sucks... If you get pregnant you can get Medicaid, but they won't give you that much vicodin. Isn't that horrible that people in this country are getting pregnant like rabbits to keep their Medicaid. Ridiculous... You'll have to excuse my anger, I'm really frustrated about it too. Have you tried to get on disability? Sometimes they pay a little more than unemployment. For the price you'd pay going to Mexico it wouldn't be worth it. And trust me, the pills in Mexico aren't cheap.

Have you tried any alternative type therapies? Most insurance companies don't cover them anyway. I have gone to acupuncture, a massage therapist and even a crystal healer to find relief from knee pain. I have been on pain medication for quite some time and cannot take anti-inflamatories because of a procedure I had and I want to be off the medication, so I am willing to try anything. My mother suffered from a herniated disk and she goes to acupuncture once a month and avoided a surgery by doing so. She has found great pain relief and needs no medication. I learned from the crystal healer that emeralds are said to heal and reduce pain, so if you are believer maybe try wearing an emerald necklace. You never know what could work. Good luck to you.

I cured my sciatica with this natural treatment ( http://cure-sciatica.info )
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

i had 2 herniated discs and lived off pain meds for 4 years.I got to the point where 2 /day wasn't going to be enough,i needed 6 to 10 Oxycontin's /day.so i got my spine fixed and have been of the meds for almost 2 yrs now.here's where i went getadr.com. anyways the only place i know you can get pain meds legally without a prescription is Amsterdam and the Dominican republic.when i was hurting i tried getting them on-line also and got all kinds of spy-ware in my put er don't know if its the DEA or scumbags wanted me to give them a credit card number so they can try to scam me.they hacked into my put er and got my home phone number and do telemarketing for meds.stay away from on line crap.either go somewhere where it is legal or just get them legally.I Would get those discs fixed though they will only get worst, cracked discs do not heal

No, you cannot ever get a Narcotic Medication without a prescription, legally.

I know you didn't ask, but why are you just taking meds for 3 herniated disc? You are gonna end up crippled if you don't treat those disc and the pain must be unreal!! You should maybe check into a clinic at your State hospital or something.
Although they are a pain, you will at least get the care you need without it breaking you.

I'm sorry to say the only way you can get Vicodin legally is with a prescription. The only other way to get it is to try purchasing it off the streets. That may be rather risky and you will pay a lot more per tablet . I understand your financial problem and it really is terrible that we can't have free medical services like so many other countries Do.
