Yes, they can blame genetics, but that doesn't' make it accurate. Sure, family habits play a part. My husband's family lives on way too much meat, meals out, processed "foods", and other things I wouldn't classify as food. Both of my husband's sisters, neither of whom are pregnant, look more pregnant than I and I'm due in September.
While I grew up eating meat and stuff that wasn't overly healthy at times, things like potato chips (which I have never liked), dinners out, cookies, etc., were rare treats. Not only were things like cookies rare, but they certainly weren't allowed for breakfast. For that matter most of the cereals marketed to kids were not allowed in my house. (Even today, I find the ingredients of most of them disgusting and not something I would feed my kids.)
It is definitely about the habits one adopts while growing up and what s/he does with those habits as an adult. My husband still eats food that I do not agree with, but at the same time, he has taken some baby steps, like buying sugar-free vegan whole wheat bread, organic ketchup, natural peanut butter, etc. While his younger sister does seem to have gone vegetarian, she still eats junk like white bread, potato chips (with fully hydrogenated oil; The ingredients on the bag read, "Potatoes, hydrogneated vegetable oil" YUCK), french fries, processed pre-made muffins and donuts, cookies on a daily basis because that's what's available in her house.
Fortunately, it seems that a recent scare has kicked my husband in the butt. Although, I thought that after we were informed of my pregnancy.
I just know that I will do everything within my power to teach our child(ren) by word and example.
There are health problems from both sides of my family. (His parents have had heart problems, including cancer, my MIL has been diabetic and now has high cholesterol, yet neither of them have seemed to change their habits. My mother's mother died of breast cancer. My father had an aunt who also had the disease and survived.) I realize my lifestyle that I've developed and adopted as an adult does not make me compltely immune to problems, but it certainly helps to avoid them.

Afraid genetics don't make you obese they only increase your chances of gaining weight if you aren't careful with your diet. That's why you can get some families where half are huge and half are skinny.
If you have some dieases, you can be obese, but these are normally picked up. Otherwise, you just need to get exercising and look at your diet.

I hated residing there using fact of each and every of the eating. I hate beer and that i do no longer drink, era. Russia -(the place at one factor alcohol became unlawful using fact of each and every of the alcholics). individuals do no longer continually blame genetics. that's over indulgence. in basic terms seem at a number of the worldwide's historic past the place there have been fat Kings and Queens. They have been over indulged whilst thier human beings have been ravenous. Are you American? If no longer, why do you care?

Not always, but genetics does play apart in how they are put together. If they are predisposed to being obese or skinny.

No but they do.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

No. They can not "always" blame genetics. They sometimes can.
