I never seen someone's head so concentrated in trying to read something more than when I worked with mentally challenged people... its not insult its an observation. Did a preacher in Christianity ever stand before you to tell you they have the entire book memorized every single letter and pause and sentance and can recite them to you on command.. if you have please point him out to the world! Salam

I am sorry if I disturbed you mar.. but I just don't get it... what does memorizing the Quran have to do with this question about the bible?.. and if you have a point why didn't you CLEARLY PUSH IT USING ALLAH INSTEAD OF YOUR OWN WORDS? isn't that the point here!

My great uncle by marriage had much of the bible memorized. I think he had the whole bible memorized because it did not matter what scripture it was, he could quote it exactly without opening his bible. He denied having the whole bible memorized, but I have not seen anyone do this before or since. He has been dead over 20 years he was 81 when he died in 1983.

I can not recite the whole Bible but I can recite word for word a number of books in the Bible such as Romans, Galatians, Ephesians and a number more. It is not that difficult it just takes some concentrated effort. I did most of my memorizing over a ten year period when I was a para medic and had hours every day to just sit and wait for calls. I do know people who can quote the whole New Testament plus the osalms and Proverbs.

The ability to remember books, be they the bible or the telephone book is a gift. Not many people have a perfect memory, and even those with perfect memories tend to lose memories over time.

Still, there are savants who can remember these things. Usually, but not always, they are limited in other ways. I've known people that have been able to glance at books and remember every word on the pages, you could pick the 78th word on the 201'st page and they could tell you exactly what it is. But they couldn't tell you what the book was really all about.

There is no one on Earth, preacher or not, who has memorized the entire Bible.
