Listen, a wedding is a time for celebration. Are you close to your ex? Are you over the relationship? If you genuinely can celebrate with your ex, and be happy and excited for his happiness, then feel free to attend, and give your congrats to the happy couple.
If you can not be happy for the couple....Don't go. I ran into this situation myself. One of my ex's (an ex that I still had feelings for at the time) invited me to their wedding. I felt compelled to attend because I was invited...but I ended up crying during the whole thing, and wearing dark sunglasses the whole time to hide it. It was not fair to me, or to the bride and groom for me to bring down their happy day.
Also, something to consider: Do you have a current boyfriend? Will he be upset if you attend an event for an ex? I would talk to him first, if you are dating someone else now.

I'm in the same boat, but i was going to marry my ex bout a year ago till i realised that i wasn't happy with the whole situation anyway cut a long story short he has got his childhood sweetheart pregnant and they are getting married after the baby is born i got an invite to go to their wedding and I'm not that close with them but we still are pleasant to each other and there is no weird feeling toward each other so I'm going to go and wish them all the best if u haven't talked to him or seen him and don't have much to do with him then i think don't go but if u have contact with him on a semi reg basic than wish him all the best

I would send a card and small gift from their registry that is not super personal congratulating them on their marriage. I would not attend personally unless it is very clear to everyone involved that their are no feelings. Unless you guys all hang out still and things are very casual and relaxed and you would be missed at the wedding then I would not go. I do have some friends in my close group that have dated and we all still hang out and of course they would attend each others weddings but it is very clear its over and their new partners accept that. I would think though if that is not the case then I would not attend.

First of all, does the fiance know he's invited his ex-girlfriend to their wedding??? That's a bit shady if he hasn't informed her of this. But it really depends on your relationship with both of them. If you ended on good terms and are actually pretty good friends AND the fiance is okay with it, I would go, why not? But if the fiance is not that fond of you and you know your presence would cause her to be upset on her wedding day, I would just politely decline the invitation and leave it at that.

my ex bf invited me to his wedding last october. i would have gone to attend the wedding if i had the money for the airfare and if i have friends who will also be there because my ex and i have remained friends after we broke up. but there are other things you need to consider. 1st, does the bride know about your relationship in the past and is it okay with her if you'll be there. 2nd, are you sure you are emotionally ready for this? if you have not quite moved on, it's best that you don't attend your ex's wedding because this will only cause you pain. 3rd, will you be comfortable enough to attend the wedding.
good luck on your decision

My ex is coming to my wedding. He's a good mate and is like part of the family. We've both had a couple of relationships since and our friendship will always be special. My husband-to-be has always thought of him as a 'sort-of' brother and they get on well together.
If you don't feel entirely comfortable about it, don't go - and just tell him you would feel awkward. If you are good friends, he should understand that.

If you have a good, solid friendship with him AND his partner is ok with your being there, then you should definitely go. Just think of it as going to a friend's wedding.
My fiance's ex-girlfriend is still one of his good friends, and she's become a good friend to me also. It was a little weird at first, but not for long. I am absolutely ok with her and her current partner attending our wedding.
Chances are, if you're invited then you should go.

Me? It has been so long, none of them are getting married anymore. Me and my ex boyfriends hate each other so it would never happen. I wouldn't go anyway . All that about staying friends with an ex is too civilized for me.
