As a Muslim I would say that if YOU cant see GOD then dont worship him ?

If I were not able to see ALLAH then I would not have believed in him.

Muslims pray five times a day and this develops the state of "Ihsan".

Ihsan is the state of spirituality where the worshipper can either see GOD or he/she feels God is seeing them.

The heart can see ALLAH and the Islamic prayer (5 times a day +) is the excercise in strengthening that vision.

If YOU cant see GOD then dont worship him.

What does Allah look like? Old guy? With a beard?

I can feel my gods and goddesses around me and listening to me every time I talk to them or share something with them.

Well "Ihsan"is the last and perfect stage of religion.. Before this are two other stages too which, though, inferior to Ihsan, are nonetheless part of a Muslim's evolutionary process. Although, we all strive to reach Ihsan, I do not agree with you that without Ihsan one should not pray. You see prayer is a two way act. You feel love/ fear of God and you pray and while you pray you feel love/ fear of God. So if one keeps waiting that one will pray only when when reaches Ihsan is not practical and not right. You never know, if you start praying, you level of Ihsan may improve during the process.

Moreover, Ihsan does not mean you are ACTUALLY seeing God but is used in a metaphorical sense. What it means is that you act as if God is present and there in front of you. The level of your respect and awe should be like He is physically there. And then further that even if you cannot imagine that then at least know this that he is watching your every move.

Ray, your logic is flawed from the very beginning. One does not pray because God needs the prayers, one prays for oneself. Try to understand it like this. Have you ever loved someone so much that you want to please that person? You would want to do everything possible to please that person. This is the philosophy of prayers . That you want to show your love to God. Muslims call it ibadah. I must also add that ibadah is not just the act of prayer (i.e. 5 times a day) but it is the whole life. Ibadah is living each and every moment of your life to please God. So you do good to people because it will please God if you do good to His creation, you learn material sciences because it will pelase God if you learn them and do something for benefit of mankind and so on. A Muslim never seeks anyone's pleasure but God's.

I will keep on worshipping and praying to Allah at least 5 times a day even though I can not see Allah because I convince that Allah is exist..Praying is needed because I am not perfect and maybe have sin..Anything which can not be seen is not the same that there is nothing. For example we can no see wind and electric flow in a cable but we believe in its existence. This universe is exist and keep in its function so it should be the greatest creator and regulator that is Allah the only one God..So why we should stop worshipping Allah ?
We should thanks Allah and ask for His protection and ask for His forgiveness too..Praying is needed and it is also my obligation.I hope I can reach ihsan the highest level but if I can not reach it I do not care for it because it is decided by Allah.Man proposes with hard effort but God will dispose it.

you can see god? that's interesting cause no one else can. oh and allah or whatever it is. if he is god that is an idea. not proven or necessarily true. i believe in none of this but i find it fascinating that you are apparently the only one that sees all this. you believe just like everyone else and you criticize what others believe. when in fact you see nothing. you must feel like an idiot or something. and why lie? alls you see is what fantasies you create. i see versions of god and all that on TV. is that where you get you inspiration. so maybe that's what we should do worship the TV cause their you can see anything. the only thing you've probably ever seen is something in your dreams. i don't care what you believe in or think you saw that your probably lie'n about anyway, but why are you being a hypocrite about it i could understand an atheist saying don't worship god. but another guy that believe and thinks he sees things with his heart? I'm sorry but the only thing your heart sees is blood everyday. and your not seeing whatever with your eyes because your mind is making all this seeing stuff up. and you can strengthen your vision alright do some drugs you'll be seeing the future and this allah thing in no time. sounds to me like you shouldn't critisize others when you believe just as they do. maybe not in the same exact way or whatever but still you believe and tell others not to do whatever their religion is. hypocritical if you ask me

I am Roman Catholic and this practice of yours, praying five times a day, is one thing that I admire in Islam. We Christians have an option to do that as well, but because it's not something enforced to us we tend to ignore the importance of it. The act of praying brings us closer to God thus making us feel more his presence. From what I understand in your last sentence, you're trying to say to others not to do what other Muslims do like praying five times a day, giving charity, pilgrimage, fasting, etc. when you do these just for the sake of being considered Muslim but follow these things because you truly believe in God or Allah.

this is actual a very sturdy question. Many young ones (myself secure two decades in the past) HATE ritual and previous human beings telling them the thank you to think of and experience. The term "worship" looks style of antiquated, would not it? you may properly be religious without worshipping. no count number if this is significant you, exchange right into a pupil of religions, even an amateur pupil. Make it a activity or in keeping with risk a devotion. permit human beings be responsive to you're "searching for the fact". Now...to "worship", skill to teach devotion TO....to correctly known that something is larger above you...to correctly known and rejoice that there is a miles better tension than YOU interior the universe. you prefer to teach this tension that it takes priority on your life. are you able to think of of something or all people like that throughout the time of your life? some human beings do it with money. some human beings do it with intercourse. some human beings are green with life, and that they have got not rather given it plenty thought...yet. many human beings in basic terms run on computerized and don't in all risk understand they are effectively worshiping...materialism? a life style? suggestion: be certain what your concepts in life are; the recommendations that are of the main value to you. Then, as you mature, you will come to be responsive to the thank you to embody and encompass those ideals. you will be able to discover God there.

I am a Muslim, and I don't think your point is wholly correct. Allah did not give anyone, even His prophets, the right of seeing Him. But we can surely feel His presence if we devote ourselves to prayers.

As for the ninth answerer, I can't imagine why someone would devote himself to defaming our religion, and the Prophet (SM). If you think our religion is wrong, fine, don't follow it, but just WHO gave you the right to criticise it so vehemently? Just because there is no one to reprimand you? Do you actually think you will get away with this? I think you are seriously insecure, so you go around defaming Islam, our Rasul and our Allah.

As for another answerer who claimed that Allah has told us only to worship Him, have you ever heard of the five pillars or fundamentals of Islam?

We are also ordered to serve mankind, help our relatives and friends, invite others to Islam, pay Zakat to the poor (one of the five pillars) etc.

Praying is a fundamental aspect of Islam, but it is only to show our loyalty to our God. If He was really insecure, then He could have easily forced everyone in this world to pray to Him. But He didn't do that, He has given us intelligence and the Quran and it is up to us to decide the path we follow.

as an atheist id say

If there is no other god but God, why should he care if humans worship something else? Isn't he convinced that there is no other god but him? So why would he get so upset? Is he even jealous of imaginary contenders? Isn’t it paranoia and psychopathology? Let us say I and my harem of wives live in an island where I am the only male. Wouldn’t you say I am a mad man if I threaten to beat my wives should they look at other men? What other men? If there is no other man but me, why should I be so paranoid? If God is sure of himself he does not need the approval of anybody, least of all his creation.

chew on that awhile

You don't have to do that even. (You might want to try breathing while you're praying though)

God's made me drop to my knees and cry violently because he has saw me and I was ashamed. Afterward he picks you back up though.

You can see God when you walk in the woods. It's hard to explain, but in the very nature of things you can feel and sense his presence if you stop thinking about yourself and breath his air. See the leaves of the trees, truly for the first time as you've never seen them before.

This part is hard to explain to atheists who think we're just delusional. They are not open to it and sorry to say, they probably never will ever get it.

P.S. What's up with the down arrow? This is true experience. I'm not lieing.

I understand what you mean brother,
but a child should try to walk, even he/she can't walk, in the beginning.
We are not fish who don't need to learn swimming, so our intention must be good and never be disappointed from the mercy of Allah.
We should not put such restrictions on us if Islam allows us flexibility.
WE SHOULD KEEP ON TRY TO PRAY LIKE WE SEE ALLAH SWT. ONE DAY INSHA'ALLAH WE WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE HIM AS WELL.

Edit,
I think you are talking about the same concept Allama Iqbal,
"tera Imam bay-Hazoor, teri namaz bay-saroor
Aisay Imam sa guzr, aisi namaz sa guzr"
