Aloha Michael,

Not sure if you were only interested in two dozen or so people who responded to your post, or if you wanted actual numbers of God believers?

I was unsure of how you were defining "God". Are you talking about the Abrahamic monotheistic "God" worshiped by Christians, Jews and Muslims, or only the trinity version of "God" worshiped by the Christians?

There are 2.1 billion Christians in the world. It is safe to assume almost all believe in "God". Islam has 1.3 billion followers and believers in their version of "God". There are 12-14 million Jews worldwide, but it's uncertain what percentage actually might be Jewish atheists or God believers - especially after that little trick He pulled with the you're my "chosen" people bit and then becoming omni-absent during the holocaust, sitting idly by why Hitler roasted 6 million of them. (With friends like these....)

As for me personally, no. I consider myself a secular humanist. Free thinker. Skeptic. Atheist.

I believe there is a 'higher power' but not necesarly God himself. I believe the bible was written to give people something to believe in. (most) Everybody need to believe in something higher than themselves. Nobody wants to think of the 'afterlife' as being rotting in a casket, that's why we believe in a Heaven and a Hell. We need to believe that our lives don't just end, that there is something better after this.

This is entirely my belief. When I say "we" I mean my belief of others.

And just an observance:
