For those who think you don't need to follow the law of the old testament please note:

[All of the vicious Old Testament laws will be binding forever. "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)

Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn’t the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)]

Earth is still fine, so the old testament is still to be followed my dear friends!

As for some ignored teachings...here you go:

"Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?" (l Corinthians 11:14). How many freaked out long-haired, bible thumping Jesus freaks do you know? Perhaps this is just my experience, but I can name 12 such individuals off the top of my head. Surely, you can recall at least ONE LONG-HAIRED CHRISTIAN. The stereotypical version of CHRIST HIMSELF! Think of the numerous statues and pictures Christians adore depicting the lord appearing as that which he detests. One can not stop and wonder at the absurdity of this.

Another tenet clearly prohibits women from being ministers or otherwise speaking in church (“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak”-- 1 Corinthians 14:34). It’s difficult to see how Paul could support the current movement to ordain women. Why, Jesus would **** himself knowing that even I, an ATHEIST WOMAN, has managed to get herself legally ordained.

A third tenet prohibits men and women from wearing each other’s clothing (“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God”--Deuteronomy 22:5). Funny thing, two female Jehovah Witnesses came over this morning, they coffee clutched with my neighbor Jenny, a fellow Christian and ALL THREE of these women were wearing pant suits!

Ever watch these Christians on television and notice how their bowed heads uniformly shake amen while some evangelist goes on and on in prayer for a ******* hour? Well, repetitious and monotonous praying is in violation of Matthew 6:7. “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”

Here is perhaps the mother of verses ignored: “Judge not, that ye be not judged” (Matthew 7:1) and “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged, condemn not and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven” (Luke 6:37). I have yet to meet a Christian who has not judged my atheism. The whole world is chalk full of judges, juries, voters, employers, teachers, etc. which are all constantly judging others.

Some good points and if you wanted you could fill books with things that make so sense in the bible.

I think many people who still call themselves christians really have a belief in god but dont believe a lot of wht the bible says. There are so many errors, impossiblities, manipulations etc, that a rational person who believes in god has to reject a lot of it.

They have the attachment to it through (generally) their parents and theirs and so on, so they identifty as christians but arent really any more.

Angel I became ordained so I can do atheist marriges. it was easier than becoming a judge or sea captain (why can a sea captain do marriges?)

Spiker find me anywhere in the OT where the messiah was to die as a comon criminal. ANYWHERE.

You have so many misinterpretations in your "question" that it's not even funny. Where to start?

1. The Old Testament was for Jews, not Gentiles. Most Christians are Gentiles, therefore do NOT have to follow the Levitical laws.
2. When Jesus died on the cross, He said "It is finished." Most Christians take that to mean that what He said in Matthew was fulfilled. He did what He was sent to do. However, He said that if a person was going to follow ONE of the laws in the Old Testament, they had to follow ALL of them. And Jesus Himself broke many of the laws.
3. As for the long hair thing, that was CULTURAL, it was not a biblical law. In Corinth, it was considered detestable for a man to have long hair. However, if a man took the Nazarite vows (e.g. Samson) they were not allowed to cut their hair.
4. Paul DID approve of women in ministry. He mentions several that he approved of. Phoebe was one of them, but there are several others mentioned in Romans 16. The passage that you use to say women can't preach is NOT about women preaching. It was about women disrupting the church services to ask questions. In that very same passage, Paul talks about other disruptions, such as prophecy and speaking in tongues.
5. I do not judge anyone. However, Jesus tells us to use RIGHTEOUS judgement, meaning that we can say something is right or wrong, but we can't condemn a person for doing wrong. And we should carefully examine ourselves before bringing to a brother's (or sister's) attention any transgression he's (or she's) committed.
6. As for how other people pray, I can't control them. I can only control myself.

Edit: As for the clothing, they didn't even HAVE pants back then. How would it be a sin, then, for women to wear pants?

True Christians uphold the law of all the Bible, not only do they do this but they USE both the OT and the NT to teach. However, I think some of your points are not valid. As a Jehovas Witness, and a true Christian I can tell you that your comment about clothes is subjective. Clothes are a matter of culture and in some cultures trouser are a womans mode of dress. Therefore female Jehovas Witnesses can wear trousers as a matter of conscience, outside of the Kingdom Hall but are asked not to wear them inside or when out preaching. However, there are special circumstances when a sister may wear trousers at all times, usualy if they have a medical condition . We have a sister who has fits about 20 times a day so wears trousers to maintain modesty and dignity, also an elderly sister who suffers seriously with athritis in her knees. Also there is nothing in the Bible that prohibits women preaching and teaching outside of the meetings. Holy spirit was poured out on both men and women at Pentecost (33 C.E) so that they may take the word to all people. Also In the last days, "I shall pour out some of my spirit upon every sort of flesh, and your sons and your DAUGHTERS will prophecy" (Acts 2:17, 18). See also Psalm 68:11, Philippians 4:2,3. Women are not permitted to teach at meetings in line with Bible teachings.

I say GOD Laws are made of three Books: The Old Testament, The new Testament and Quran as a conclusion all originated from the middle east. How can you understand GOD LAWS with out reading GOD Conclusion?

Yes there are hypocrites all around you on this planet. (i.e. friends lying to your face.) But don't judge all Christians by only a few examples. Most Christians Walk the Walk, and Talk the Talk.
ps. I think it would be a little strange if all men wore bras and all women wore jock-straps. Don't you?

Chrsitians are not bound by OT law. Read and study the NT and you will clearly see this. The law has been replaced by God's grace. When Jesus sai the words, "til all has been fulfilled" He was referring to HIs crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. All these things HAVE been fulfilled.

You've only left me with one question:
Why would an atheist want to be ordained?
Did you do this just to prove that a woman could do it, or that an atheist could?
OH, btw, my dog, Riff, is also an ordained pastor...
I did that, just to prove that ANYBODY can be ordained.
Besides, his "CLERGY" card gets me the best parking!

(That must be it! You did it to get good parking spots! You dog, you!!)
