And yes, the volume is up.

The deck accepts the CD when I insert it, loads it up and plays it as normal (i.e. the track duration begins ticking by; i can change tracks, volume, etc.) but no audio is heard.

I'm speculating that it's a loose wiring connection in the back of the deck.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on what the problem probably is and what course of action to take or if not direct me to a site that might help?

Thanks

I assume that your radio plays with no issues?

If so, then you need to disconnect whatever is attached to the blue wire at the back of the CD player. Re-connect it to the blue/white wire instead. This will solve your problem.

The explanation: your vehicle includes a factory amplifier, which is the power source for the speakers. There is a wire in the factory harness which activates the factory amp with voltage. Currently that wire is connected to the blue power antenna output at the CD player. The power antenna wire only has voltage when the tuner is selected. The blue/white remote output will have voltage whenever the unit is turned on.

Even if you don't think you have a factory amplifier, switch the wire and see if it works.

No, it's not racist. Nothing is wrong with learning about other cultures or tribes. The texts in public schools are pretty biased to other cultures. Like when you learn about African-Americans it usually deals with Slavery or Civil Rights, but it never talks about the other good things through out the world, so a lot of African americans get disinterested, and never take their learning of knowledge outside the classroom. There are people around the world that love the same thing you do, and they'll go live with tribes in the Amazon or wherever to learn from them and help. I think it's great what your doing and we need more people in the world like you.

Yeah, it sounds like a faulty connection. Check the harness to make sure it is tight and also check the connections between the harness and the speaker wires.

If all is well, take the player back, because someone flubbed the dub on your install.

Hope this helps!

Make sure that the wires are in the right places first of all. Then make sure that they are in there nice and tight or you will not hear anything, you might also want to try looking at the speaker themselves to make sure that the wires are hooked up correctly to the speakers.

kaezoo has it

check that blue wire.
if you're not hearing anything from the radio either, then you might still have a factory amp with nothing connected to it
