Incorrect.Atheists take responsibility for their own actions and know that if we do wrong we will have to answer to the law.
Christians on the other hand believe they can do whatever they wish.As long as they repent and ask god for forgiveness then everything is alright.

Not really, your theory is flawed, in fact your theory reflect very much on yourself.
Let me explain.
Atheists are atheists because they take responsibility for their own action. They do not take the authority and keep away from the responsibility.
For example, when an atheist took the "authority" to steal, they are prepared to take the responsibility to be caught and be jailed.
Theists, especially Christians, love the authority but try to keep away from the responsiblity as much as possible.
For example, when a christian took the "authority" to steal, they repent, the ask for forgiveness and because they think their "sins" has be cleanse with the death of a certain divine scapegoat, they are automatically forgiven because "god forgives all except for blasphemy against god."

Not exactly.
People are atheists because they don't like to be told what to THINK and they have the intelligence and courage to question authority and not blindly accept knowledge without critical examination.
As for taking responsibility for their own actions, no one is better than a free thinking atheist - it's religious types that have no accountability for their actions because they can always say, "it was god's will" to justify just about anything.

No, what you have is the inability to accept that there are people who simply don't believe in a god or gods. You keep trying to explain it to yourself through your pre-conceived frame of reference. For your own purposes, you have to grasp at or create some convoluted rationale when the answer is quite simple.

Usually people are atheists because they have a better education, better ability to Judge things on their own and not accept statements made by others without some evaluation.
They also have less tendency to be superstitious.
in short - atheists are more reasonable.

Everyone has to abide by laws, the laws of the land. I however don't follow the rules of some washed out religion ruled by an invisible sky pixie just because it says so in a 2000 year old book written by ignorant men.

You are making two contradictory statements. The accurate phrasing would be that,; atheists don't want to be told what to do because they DO take responsibility for their own actions.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit how much I *like* to follow directions. It makes life so much simpler when it's an option!
But I am agnostic (atheist, for all practical purposes) because of what I believe--not how I want to act. I didn't choose my world-view for ulterior purposes; it sort of chose itself as I thought about my experiences.
