I saw a commercial stating that you can get an advance on your settlement if the lawyer feels you have a winning case. Does anybody know the name of the company? I live in arizona and t boned a kid who ran a red light. My airbags didn't go off either. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!!!

You are asking for nothing but trouble. These places are worse than borrowing money from the mob or a Payday loan center.

I think that's going to be a social security settlement - no one is going to give you an advance on this, because even if you win, there's no guarantee the kid has any MONEY. Or INSURANCE, for that matter.

And if he claims he had the green, and YOU had the red, well, your case isn't as clear cut as you might think it is.

Getting the judgement is one thing. Getting the MONEY is something entirely different.

You're better off just putting the claim in under YOUR policy and getting the car fixed, then doing the conventional lawyer thing and suing him on a contingency basis.

winning case? Did the kid you hit have insurance? Try dealing directly with his insurance carrier first. Attorneys fees will take up most of the settlement funds from a court case. Don't be too greedy, that is the way they ferret out people like you. I have seen commercials for companies that will advance money by buying up contracts, annuities and trust fund payouts, but not from auto accidents.

I have not seen this type transaction with lawyers but If you find one, check the interest rate on the "short term loan". Thats what you are getting. The lawyers that take cases and claim "no win, no payment" charge about 35% when they DO win.
