For the people who STILL support President Bush: why (specifically) do you support him?
I used to believe in my country. I used to be patriotic...until Dubya was "elected".

Let me expand.
Just because I'm not patriotic doesn't make me a liberal. Just because I'm not patriotic doesn't mean I don't believe in what our Fore Fathers had origionally intended for our nation when they signed the Declaration of Independence.
The problem with our country is the apartheid of the mind.
If you can't answer the question with details as to why you support Bush-please don't answer. I'm not inclined to read others' judgemental, opinionated, biased, or assumed opinions. Save your wrath for the real issues instead of each and every opinion you come across.
Since I have posted this question, no one has been able to support their answer with a GOOD argument.
An example of a bad argument:
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful - and so are we, they never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people - and neither do we." George W Bush at a Pentagon meeting, August 2004

Being patriotic has nothing to do with supporting Bush.
The oath taken by every military officer, every officer of the courts, every attorney and every elected official is to support and defend the CONSTITUTION. That's the symbol and essence of our Country -- not any one individual.
And the oath is to defend the Constitution "against all enemies, foreign and domestic" -- that means if anyone betrays or tramples on the Constitution (as Bush has done), that person becomes an enemy of the country.

I do like the way he stand up for what he feels is right even if it is not the most popular choice. I do admit he has gotten on my nerves some as well. The thing is like you put, this is my country right or wrong. I do not mind the politics and so on that go on in this nation or the fact that many people do not like Bush or that many to not like Hillary Clinton and so on. What I can not stand is when another nation tries to interfere in our business. That's when I think as Americans we should all stand up and in one voice say, "sit your @ss back down and shut your mouth this is our nation and you have no business saying sh*t!" We have the right do disagree and not follow the lead of our leaders but for the sake of this nation and all the lives that so many have given for it we should be proud of it. The fact is most of these other nations would not have anything if we did not give them money and support from time to time, and I am talking about many of the ones who hate us the most. I say pull our money away and let them rot and figure out their own issues. Then if they step out of like just bomb them back to the stone ages. We are trying to be a good nation, while not all of our leaders are the best we should still make it clear to others that they are ours and to back off.

Bush is a good man doing the right thing, without the strength to ignore the opposition and do it the right way. I am an independant conservative, and you are a clueless liberal destroying our country with your silly sensitivity/tolerance raggedy ann crybabby crap.
The reason that the war isnt running so smoothly is because of all your tolerant junkie suicidal troop haters who wind up making our combat rules so restrictive, and whining every time we accidently kill a civilian, and actively supporting the enemy and giving them moral.
And for that matter... good grief, republicans for the working class for the win! They dont do the moral things we elect them for, which is why im Independant, but they definately help us. It might sound nice for democrats to say they raise the minimum wage, give better overtime laws or whatever; but the fact is that your employer will only give you fewer hours, and start you out lower.

I used to be patriotic before CLINTON or Dubya were elected. Remeber, Bill dismembered the armed forces and still took us to war in Bosnia. Then George took us to war in Iraq. Bill fired nearly 200 U.S. Attorneys and George fired.....a handful. Bill fornicated in the White House, George lied to America...so did Bill. Bill claimed to be liberal but killed welfare because Newt told him to. George claims to be a Republican, but has created Big Government. Can we be patriotic with either in the White House? What happened to the days of true conservatives and true liberals? Not these middle of the road pansies.

With great power comes great corruption. It´s inevitable. It makes the White House oval office very covetable. But curiously, the most capable men do not relish that power so much. They know how much responsibility is attached. Mr Bush doesn´t care. He´ll be there for a little while more and leave to some other the pain to try and correct his mistakes. Meanwhile, the second US-Iraq war brought him millions in shady deals.

In my eyes, I think it is Patriotic to be angry when someone undermines what was once great about this country. Especially the President.
Bush and Co. have made their billions, and honestly, that's all they ever cared about.
Never forget, that they got rich off the blood of young Americans that thought their was no higher honor than to serve their country.

your belief in your country or your patriotism should not be based on who your president is.
and you should be ashamed about that. your type are the ones that give less hope to our soldiers fighting for your country.

you can still be patriotic and anti-Bush Millions of us do it everyday, we can become a peaceful carring country again, but we need people to get off their asses and do the work, a lot of people would rather sit and let things fall a part than work to make them better
