If you are totally miserable or can't function, you can go to the doctor and get a steriod (cortisone) shot. It will work for at least a couple of weeks.

I agree, antihistamines do a limited job controlling allergy symptoms. A steroidal nasal spray works much better. It is available by prescription, but it takes 5 days to start working. If you have good insurance, you can go to an allergist and get desensitation shots. They really work, but it may be two years before you can see an improvement and five years to get the maximum benefit. I was on a series of shots lasting nine years. My allergies are much better now and I do not need allergy medicine. It has been six years since I discontinued the shots and I still have the benefits.

You may be having a reaction to the chemicals in your household cleaners. Most contain a host of unsavory ingredients. Lysol disinfectant spray, for example, contains pesticides.

You could do a lot for your health by removing some of these chemicals from your home.
