No; as a general rule it will not. Tomato juice and tomato paste were used centuries ago to PRESERVE meat in the hold of ships; it was thought to be poisonous, and people were afraid to eat the tomatoes themselves. Eventually, however, it finally occurred to somebody that the people who DID eat the paste didn't get scurvy (caused by lack of vitamin C, of which tomatoes have TONS). Unless it's REALLY sweet ketchup, it's fine. If in doubt, open up the bottle, check for mold; if you don't see it, and don't smell anything rotten, then it's ok to use. If water has seperated out, shake the bottle well with the top closed, and buy another brand next time, because what you have is cheap stuff ;-)

Check the temperature of the refrigerator and adjust if needed. Sometimes a control will get moved without you knowing. Get a thermometer to keep in the refrigerator. When putting items away make sure they are stored properly. Hot items should not be kept in a deep container, you can move the food to another once the food has cooled. If you have very hot items you may want to add ice to chill them before placing in the refrigerator. Do not let hot things stand at room temperature until cold. Refrigerate as soon as possible. Allow enough room between containers to allow air flow to speed cooling. If you are talking about fresh fruits and vegetables make sure you are getting good quality items that are not over ripe to begin with. Store items properly so greens and soft vegetables will not get too moist. Remove plastic bags so food items do not retain moisture. Also move the refrigerator and get the vacuum behind and under to clean out all the dust that gathers. This will allow the motor to function properly. You say the temperature is "the same" what temperature is the inside of the refrigerator? You should keep the temperature between 40 degrees F and not higher than 45 degrees F. The colder you keep it the longer items will last. If you are checking the control knob that may not reflect the actual temperature. Get a thermometer that you keep in the refrigerator. May also want to get an instant read one and once in a while check food temperatures. Make sure the gasket around the refrigerator door is not torn or soiled. Clean it with vinegar and water. Or a cleaner that will not harm the gasket, wipe down with plain water after using a cleaner. Some cleaners are hard on gaskets causing them to breakdown. For longer lasting foods do not cut softer fruits and vegetables in advance. A day would be alright but a week is a bit long. Juices begin to run out causing the fruit and vegetable to get mushy sitting in the juice.

RE:
Does ketchup go bad if it is left out of the fridge after being cooled?
My brother and I got into a very long discussion about this. I personally do not believe that ketchup will go bad if left out because restraunts do that. My brother believes a person may obtain an illness from "spoiled" ketchup.
If you would like to help us bring this feud over...

My ketchup never sees the fridge . It goes right from the store to my cupboard .
Cold ketchup makes hot food , like hamburgs , cool off too quickly . That's why I never refrigerate it .
I've never had any ketchup go " bad " . Sometimes , not often , the ketchup might turn a lighter colour of red and look a bit ' orange ' , but , the flavour has never changed or seemed " bad " .

Ketchup has vinegar in it, which is a natural preservative. I buy Heinz ketchup, which does NOT say refridgerate after opening. Vinegar is the second item on the list, second only to tomato paste of course.
I think some brands of ketchup may say refridgerate on the bottle. It's probably for lawsuit protection, but there's a slight chance that they put less vinegar in the bottle, very slight indeed.
I think that if you are going to leave ketchup out, then you should not buy the mega 10 member family size, just to be safe.
The link below is hysterically funny...you'll enjoy it.

Nope, you won't get sick & the ketchup won't go bad -- you're just more likely to get a layer of water on top.

No Way!! I do that all the time! It may get a bit watery but it isn't like it's poison after you leave it out!
