Well, whichever career you choose you will have to force yourself to like those things that you don't like because they are part of the job. Your family may be right. Looking at both careers on the long term, it would seem that Psychology is it for you. How sure are you that Game Design will still be around 10 years from now. Entertainment preferences change overnight. You can always design games as a sort of hobby.
Peace and blessings!

If you're going to be a psychologist, be prepared to get at LEAST a Master's degree to be able to be employable; a PhD would be even better. There are an awful lot of unemployed B.A.s in psychology out there. If you're going to be a game designer, you can count on effectively going to school forever, as hardware and operating systems change practically on a daily basis, and things are obsolete almost by the time you learn them.
The person who suggested being both has a nice idea, but that's an exhausting amount of work; I tried going the double-major route (computer science and biology) and had to bail on the biology simply because I just didn't have the time to do both. Computer science requires a huge amount of time and a B.S. (or certification like MSCE) is what you'll need for being a game designer. There's really no such thing as designing games in your spare time; I promise you that it's an endeavor that takes every moment you have, and then some.
With all that being said: More than anything - go where your heart takes you, and I don't believe you can truly go wrong!

sorry, if you don't like reading and hate math, you cannot do any of them.
I think you'd rather be an artist... "vast imagination", "drawing abilities", or be a sales person... "good listener", human mind "interesting", or both...
Perhaps you might consider also being an advertising visual creative, where you can make full use of your talents and interests!

You can be both. Work as a Psychologists full time, then be a Game Designer by whim. Why choose when you can be both.

Stay in school and learn how to spell and use spell check. If you can't solve your own problems, how do you expect to help anyone else? Stick to games. . .or flipping burgers. . .
