I have searched and searched Google for this with no luck. I just pulled an old KOSS radio from my 1990 civic. It had a total of four wires connected to it. Red (power) Black (ground) Grey (right speaker) and Green (left speaker). The car only has two front speakers. Here's the problem. My "new" (purchased used) JVC KS-R150 has a few more wires. I found the red, black and grey no problem. But there is no green. Instead I have white, brown, blue, and yellow and a second black. I cannot figure out what to connect and the sticker that shows what each wire is for has been removed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wow, that must be an old deck.

Basically the deck you have doesn't conform to the current wire color standards. Several years ago, most after-market manufacturers converted to a universal wire color standard, but before that each manufacturer had its own code. The Koss and JVC color systems aren't necessarily the same.

My guess is that red and yellow are both power wires. If your "new" deck includes a digital FM tuner and/or a clock, then it needs a constant voltage source for the memory as well as a key-switched power source for activation. Also, one of the black wires will be for the deck's ground connection.

White, blue, brown and gray are likely to be all speaker outputs, and the second black connection is probably a common speaker ground wire. My best guess would be that white and gray are the front speaker outputs, blue and brown the rear.

I can't find an old JVC manual with a color code, so trial and error will have to be your guide. You might also try calling JVC directly.

Good luck!

the stereo should have a pair of colored wires, one with a black stripe on it, indicating the negative speaker wire.. the white is front left, green is rear leftay is front right and purple is rear right. yellow is constant power from your battery, red is accessory wire, only has power when the ket is on.. blue with a white stripe would be the remote turn on for an amp.. plain blue is power antenna.. black is ground. orange would be the dimmer, when you turn on the headlights the stereo would dim. if you are only going to use 2 speakers, use the front colors.. you said that car only had 4 wires coming from it. it should have an accessory wire on it also. if you have any questions or more info, mail me at bman0279@yahoo.com. good luck
