I see a therapist once a week! If your mother loves you at all...which I'm sure she does, then she will understand that it is for your own good to get the help that you need! My dad is stubborn with my mental illness that I have! And there are a lot of stuff that I have built up inside of me that pertains to my dad! You can't change the way people are! You have to learn how to change yourself because honestly you can only worry about yourself before you worry about what others think or feel! Try yoga or pilates...or some type of meditation to help deal with your stress and anxiety! I don't know what goes on with you and your therapist, but hopefully he/she is helping you find ways to release your stress and anxiety! If the therapist isn't helping you find ways to deal with it...then ask her what you can do when you are not with your therapist! I hope I was some help to you! Good Luck hun!

I've had anxiety my whole life, as far back as I can remember. My mom always said I was fine and just shy. I'm now 21 and married. I finally started getting help for my anxiety and panic attacks. I take medication now and go to a psychiatrist. Of course, my mom thinks she knows more than my dr. She said I shouldn't be taking any medication and that I'm fine. I know I have a problem that's interferring with my life. She doens't have any problems, so she doesn't think I do. I just don't even talk to her about it. I know what I'm doing is right and I don't need her input anymore.

My child had mysterious and undiagnosed symptoms for more than 10 yrs., regardless of all the tests and medical Dr.s seen.

Beginning therapy, and being diagnosed with a disorder that actually matched the symptoms,
I found to be
--a relief that we found a name for it
--distressing because I did not understand what the disorder meant or what the course of treatment would bring
--concerning when the child became suicidal or in crisis or run away
--draining every day
--helpless to the symptoms we had to deal with
--grateful to have found a therapist who knew what to do, and that my child came to trust, and respond to
