Robert P, The "Old Time" Christianity never HAD a Bible. The OLD Time Christianity occured in the first 4 centuries after Christ's death. THOSE Christians simply followed Christ's example and loved one another. They helped not ONLY each other but EVERYONE that they came in contact with who would ACCEPT their help. The OLD TIME Christians preached the "word of God" through their everyday lives, LIVING the word not by reading it and inerpreting it to suit their OWN views. They took Jesus at his word and actually LIVED in accordance with his idea of unconditional love for their fellow people on the Earth. Neo-Christianity came about as a RESULT of the Bible. As I posted in another question a couple of days ago, there are TWO sects of Christianity. There are the REAL Christians who actually LIVE their lives through the EXAMPLE of Jesus's OWN life, and there are the BIBLIANS (My term), who live their lives by what it says in the BIBLE. Jesus never WROTE a Bible, He preached his message of universal love from his heart and soul. MEN wrote the Bible. Yes THEY claimed that it was through the "Inspiration" of God but, there is absolutely NO evidence of there even being such inspiration to those people. God inspires ALL of us, directly to our spirits, each and every day. Every time we make a conscious choice to do or not do something, GOD is there in our hearts. If we choose to make the decision that harms no one then we have listened to what God is telling us to do. If we DO cause harm, then we are ignoring God's advice to our hearts. THAT is what Jesus was trying to get across to the people of his time. Those who followed him in those times actually LIVED the WORD of God, they didn't NEED to read it in a book nor HEAR someone ELSE read it to them. REAL Christians listen to the WORDS of God each and every single day through thier loving actions to others, NOT by picking up a little black book and using it to justify their predjudices and hatreds.

I'd hope not, but many Christians are fueled by gossip even when our very own Lord tells us to stay far away from it to not indulge in the labour of Gossip... yep self-righteousness is something they may put on - because they forget that God GRACE is what saved them and nothing that they did...

Eager to pass the buck sure but who is not... totally not a Christian virtue though

I believe in "old time", bible 100% accurate (no room for private interpretation) christianity.
The new "choose what God has to believe" christianity is not acceptable.A person can't decide what they want God to believe and be like.
If you are wondering what I mean.God hasn't became PC the last 45 years.
God never approved the teaching and worshiping of false gods or idols.
