Aloha Sailcat,

It would appear the bible-worshipers don't even know their own religion. Christianity's foundation is the Trinity: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity which says God exists as three entities: the Father, the Son (incarnate as Jesus of Nazareth), and the Holy Spirit. Thus Jesus = God (and the Son of God)

The links below explain how this was incorporated into Christian doctrine at the Council of Nicaea.

"Anyone who can worship a trinity and insist that his religion is a monotheism can believe anything... just give him time to rationalize it."
— Robert A. Heinlein

1. Jesus shares the same attributes of God with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Heb 1:8-12 Eternity
I Cor 2:8 Glory
Act 3:14 Holiness
John 1:4 Life
Rom 8:37-49 Love
Col 1:16-17 Omnipotence
Matt 28:20 Omnipresence
John 2:24-25, 16:30, Heb 4:13 Omniscience
John 14:16 Truth

...only a few examples

2. Jesus is Yahweh (aka God) because the Bible specifically attributes him the title of Yahweh and LORD.

Matt 3:3, Mark 1:3, Luke 3:4-6, John 1:23, Phil 2:9-11,
John 1:3, Col 1:16-17, Rev 1:8, 17, 2:8, 22:12-13, 20,
John 17:1, 5 (12:20-41), Is. 9:6, Rev. 1:7, Matt 1:21, Titus 2:13

...I could go on and on but it's hard to fully describe while typing in a short time frame. If you don't have a bible go to:

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/

Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you to knowledge of the truth in showing you Biblically that Jesus is in fact God, and not only that but he's your only hope for salvation by believing in his true and perfect sacrifice.

yes.

okay first off, the first guy who posted here has got his words VERY wrong. parakletos from the Greek means "of the same essense", not "admired one"

secondly, yes in the Bible Jesus did call Himself the Lord. of course, Jesus being the smart-aleck that He was didn't outright say "I am the great God". what He said is "before Abraham was, I am". The Hebrew name for God is derived from the name "I AM" when Moses spoke to the bush. similarly, so is the Hebrew word of LORD. translated today, it reads YWH, that is Yahweh or Jehovah. Jesus by calling Himself the I AM took upon Himself the name, authority and personage of God. erego, He is God.

I'd go on an on about "the Father and I are one", "How can David call his son Lord" and the like, but again, those are bound to come up by someone else.

Yes. There are three in one.
Father(God, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.
Read John 10:24-30.
Read John 1:1.
I hope I helped!

Jesus = God in the sense that the Creator had to experience the human experience of being killed for doing good in the world so he/she can know what the human experience is like as we go through the living and dying on earth. Furthermore, Jesus is the Son of God so that God also gets the horrible experience of seeing or living through the death of one of his/hers children.
The question becomes, "What does the Human Being do to accept the total destruction of everything he or she loves as we die? The answer is, we don't for the most part. We just give in!
That is the teaching of the Bible, that being humble even in the face and the experience of death is the only way to go through the gate into the unknown. If you, or Jesus, the Son of God try to enter the Gates of Heaven in some state of being other than defeated and humbled, you will be cast out!

yes. because God the father through many different authors and centuries specifically prophesied and recorded it in a compilation of books called the bible, that there would be a savior born who would be the sacrifice needed to atone for our sins.the odds of all the specific prophesies coming together pointing to only one man are astronomical . Jesus Christ was and is the only one ever to fit into what was prophesied about him thousands of years before he ever came . father, son, holy spirit are united as one god for the purpose of redeeming mankind and bringing us back to him

Jesus is not equal to God, Jesus is the son of God and therefore submitted to God's authority. 1 Cor 15:28

Yes. Begotten means sired. Humans come from humans. God comes from God.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.

Jesus rewards those who worship Him:
Mat 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper **and worshipped him,** saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mat 8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4:136 O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His Apostle, and the scripture which He hath sent to His Apostle and the scripture which He sent to those before (him). Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His Books, His Apostles, and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray.
i.e., you'd better not throw out the Injeels!

First there is not a "Trinity". Second Jesus is God. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are simply titles. Just like I am a son, brother, and an uncle. But my name is Shawn. Just like God's name is Jesus Christ. God came to this earth and died for our sins on a cross at calvery and rose on the third day. And by the way the Bible says in acts 2:38 that you are to baptize in Jesus name. I promise that you cannot find one person baptized in the Bible in the name ofthe Father, son, and holy ghost. And if you can email it to me. So Jesus is God.
