I see alot of posts in the R&S section, in which someone makes a comment on really bad stuff that Christians do, and the general response that i usually see from Christians is:

"Oh, they're not real Christians..."

I don't understand this. I thought that being a Christian was to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior and Lord...

If a racist person kills a bunch of minorities, and his religion is christianity, why do some christians insist that this person couldn't possibly be christian just like they are...
If your argument is that if a person murders people, or harms people, then they are not Christian because they are not being Christ-like, then what about a person that fornicates? Are they not allowed to call themselves Christian? Who decides which sins you can commit and still be christian?

I don't think people should try and decide who is Christian and who is not, because everyone sins, so how do you say someone is not a Christian because of the sins they commit?

Because they are not really Christians...
Joking... but you have a good point.

Many Christians will say this because they can not understand how someone who claims to be a Christian could be so uncaring or unloving. There should be a change in the hearts and lives of those who have accepted Christ as their Savior and Lord. They would not have the desire to do such things. It is the "you will know them by their fruits" test. No good fruit.. they must not be Christian.

Christians can still commit sins and remain Christians, with the possible exception of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The difference is one of a repentant heart with the desire to do what is right. It is not an excuse to sin and it does not change the harm it causes other people. Love is to be the main motivation in all that we do. We are forgiven, not perfect. God is the final judge, not us.

Well first off even christians are moody just like anyone would be, and sometime we can be rude. We are not perfect. All one can go on is fruits. But since we dont know each other on here its hard to know who is saved and who isnt. Many will say they are a christian but has never been saved. Some I have seen on here believed they was saved at birth. Well that don't make one saved. Then you have so many false religions and they think they are going to heaven because they done good deeds, but still never claim to be saved.

If you truly become a Christian it's going to change the way you think, act, and live. If it doesn't, then you just had an emotional experience and you didn't truly accept Christ as Savior. As the Bible says,"A tree is known by it's fruit". And while God is the ultimate judge, we have a Scriptural standard by which we should live. And we have the Holy Spirit to strengthen and guide us.

Yeah I see this all the time in here but I'm an atheist so I don't know why they would say that. Makes me wonder...if they're not real Christians then what exactly are they?
