People say that 98.6F is the normal temperature, but it varies among people, so compare your temperature to what normal is for you; a degree or more over is generally considered to be a fever. Even if you can't take your temperature for some reason, there are ways to tell if you have a fever. If you're really cold and shivery (it's weird that fevers make you feel like that, but that's how it works) and generally feel crappy, you probably have a fever.

Any reading above 98.6 is considered low grade fever..The higher the body temperature....the higher the fever index goes up.

The average human body temp is 98.6* F. Since that is only the median, people may be a little cooler or a little higher. My normal body temp is sometimes 99.7*, and I'm not sick! To have a fever would to have a temp over 100 * F.

it all depends on what your regular temp is, everyone is different, the average is 98.6 farenheit. A fever is anything over your regular temp, can be 1/2 a degree. It is still telling you there is most likely an infection going on somewhere.

98.6 considered normal, you can have a low grade fever, less than 98.6 or above I would not worry if it is 100 degrees, but 101 -104 your brain starts to cook. Seek medical assistance.

Not everyone has a "normal" temp of 98.6. So whatever your norm is, anything above that will be a fever for you. My normal temp is 97.8. I consistantly run that temp so I know if my temp is higher, then I have a fever.

A persons temp can range a few degrees above normal depending on what they just ate, if they have been active or excersing, if they just smoked. So the general guide line is above 100.5 or more.
