I think its such a permanent fixture for a temporary state of mind. Even pretty ones seem to get in the way of how I would judge a personality. I know it doesn't sound fair, but........

It makes me think a person is more decisive than I am. I could (probably) never get a tattoo because I know I change my mind a lot.

You are assuming that your temporary states of mind lose their relevance simply because they are not your current state of mind. Your temporary state of mind was absolutely necessary in order for you to get where you are today. It is shortsighted to believe otherwise.

Therefore, a tattoo I got a temporary state of mind is still just as relevant today as it was back then. A temporary state of mind is still just as much a part of me as it was while I was in it.

If you really judge people by colorful things on their skin, then you're an extremely shallow person, and it's probably to everyone's benefit that you immediately identify yourself as such so that more depthful people don't have to waste their time.

i definitely would not judge a person if they had a tattoo, that's just stupid, it's like judging someone for coloring their hair blond, or for getting their ears pierced.. total ignorance if you ask me.
I have a tattoo, I'm happily married with a child. I'm a caring and loving person. It's not a temporary state of mind, it's what I wanted then and am still happy with my decision. When I'm like 80 in a nursing home, and someone were to wash my butt and see it, I'd be like "i was pretty cool and lived life when i was younger"

tattoos don't affect the way i feel about a person. if anything, i feel a connection to that person because i am a female with tattoos too. but not everybody is so open minded and that's fine, i have come to understand that not everybody likes everything and everybody judges somebody so judge away i guess.

Good for her! She loves art and chooses to wear it on her body. I'd then ask her about them.
The only difference between tattooed people and those who are not is: People with tattoos don't care if you don't have one.
Remember, you are more afraid of us than we (tattooed folks) are of you. We like you anyway.

For me, it depends on the tattoo, where the tattoo is located, and how many tattoos she (or he...I look at both genders equally) has. If there are American Flags and Eagles all over the place, I am less likely to speak with that person than I would be to someone who had, say, another animal or a person's face. This is simply because I do not believe that politics and personal body art should not mix.

Overall, it does not cause me to pass judgement (unless it's on their face or something...then I wonder!). I think people can use their bodies in whatever form they want, as long as it is not hurting anyone else. Body is art, as a friend of mine once said.

I love tattoos, but am too afraid to get one because I am afraid of how it will turn out. I love to talk to people about theirs, though.

It seems that you are pretty closed minded then.
Thats exactly whats wrong with the world today.
I have 5 tattoos with more on the way, and I get judged unfairly all the time.
I never enter into a tattoo lightly, I carefully consider my decision for about a year before I get it, for the very reason that I want all of my tattoos to mean something to me forever.

I think tattoos on a woman can be sexy, but I think that lower back tats, or any tats involving fairies, butterflies, or roses is way overdone, and that detracts from the beauty.

i think that tattoos with meaning are really awesome because it means that something was actaully so important that you wanted to remember it forever. but i think that tattoos that someone got just cause they felt like it is really stupid and a waste of money.

It depends on the girl and the tattoo. There's a 40 year old mother in my neighborhood that got three very sleasy tattoo's when she turned 40, and that's just gross.

But my friend has a rose on her shoulder and it looks amazing.

I'm getting a rose with thorns around it when I turn 19 and I don't care what anyone thinks of it. (it does have a meaning)

It totally depends. If she's covered head to toe in tattoos I'll think "whoa" but if she has just a small butterfly tattoo somewhere I won't even think about it. Tattoos are so common that I don't even notice them unless they're distinctive or if a person has a lot of them on their body.
