I have had a JW lady call on me for the last 3-4 years. I love her to death as she is by nature a lovely person. She is of course now trying to get me to join, although she isn't pushy but I haven't made it easy for her. I believe in God etc & am pretty spiritual however I don't know which "religion" I can share this with. I read more & more negative stuff about the JWs but all that I have met have always been (a little odd & zealous) but certainly not threatening. Anyone out there who can help solve the dilemma?

I don't think you can believe everything you read. As far as Christianity goes, all the denominations think they're right and everybody else sucks. Base your decision off what the Jehovah's Witness says and if it feels right to you, and not on what other people say.

JW's do NOT believe: 1. God is a trinity 2.God knows all things 3.Jesus is God 4.Jesus is the ONLY way to the Father 5.The Holy Spirit is God 6.The Holy Spirit is not a force--He is alive 7. Jesus arose from the grave in a physical body 8. Those who reject Jesus will go to Hell 9. Hell is a firey place of punishment. 10. Hell is eternal. 11. The unsaved go to Hell for eternity. 12. Jesus will return to Earth visably. 13. The Rapture of Jesus people. 14.The damned will be thrown into a Lake of Fire. Worst thing is their exclusive NWT Bible, which has totally left out 38 verses and has had 39 vevisions, which make it NOT the Word Of God. Out side of that they CALL themselves Christians.

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Close scrutiny of their doctrinal position on such subjects as the Deity of Jesus, Salvation, the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, the Atonement, etc., shows beyond a doubt that they do not hold to orthodox Christian positions on these subjects. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus is Michael the archangel, the highest created being. This contradicts many Scriptures which clearly declare Jesus to be God (John 1:1,14; 8:58; 10:30). Jehovah’s Witnesses believe salvation is obtained by a combination of faith, good works, and obedience. This contradicts countless Scriptures which declare salvation to be received by faith (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5). Jehovah’s Witnesses reject the Trinity, believing Jesus to be a created being and the Holy Spirit to essentially be the power of God. Jehovah’s Witnesses hold to a ransom theory of the atonement, in which Jesus' death paid only for what mankind lost when Adam sinned - namely, the right to perfect life on earth. Thus, they believe in a faith + works arrangement, where sin and death are freely atoned for by Christ, but physical perfection is attained through personal effort, coupled with faith in Christ.

I read & reread ur Q & details....
I'm puzzled?...what is ur dilemma?
U say "I don't know which 'religion' I can share this with,"
share what ?
U say "a lil odd & zealous, but certainly not threatening."
odd=unusual,strange---Thank You.
zealous=full of interest,eager,passionate,
again---Thank You.
not threatening= that's always nice to hear,
some words r like honey.
Since alot of folks use the terms "shoving it down my throat."

So u say she stands out from the crowd and
she's full of interest for YOU,
and passionate to boot! ;~)...
Like I said what is ur dilemma?
Does what she says...teaches...shows you from the Bible;
hold interest for you? (as u said)
What is holding you back,
from gaining accurate knowledge,
about our heavenly Father & One true God?
When r u gonna start ur study?

You said the comparisions u've made--don't match up;
what u've read & what u know.
And; what do YOU reason out;
in ur thinking head...You know;
the brain things inside ur head.

Hello, the way I look at it is this,God does not honor the 'badge or the hat'. He does'nt even concern himself with religions, unless they are clearly teachin' against His Word. The most important thing to Him is your heart attitude towards Him and others. Do you love, extend grace, mercy, and forgiveness? I don't shun anyone God may send to me to bless me with His Word. One day, a few years back, after my young son had passed away, two JWs, whom I had never seen in my neighborhood before, showed up at my door to 'share the Word' with me. They quoted right from revelation about the "old order of things passing away, that God would wipe away all the tears. that there would be no more death or sorrow, etc. I did not tell them that I had been crying, neither did I mention the recent loss of my child, nor had I been weeping long enough for them to be able to tell, that that's what they interrupted me from. I knew God had sent them. I don't distinguish between one denomination from another. As long as they are not 'satanists' God can use them. Even a donkey! Any one with a genuine and sincere heart to know God will find Him. I have had some of the most amazing fellowship with 'mormon elder missionaries'. I am a believer in God, I have had a personal relationship with Him for over twenty years, the 'gist' that I get from Him is, according to His Word, He ain't gonna' be askin' anyone what 'religious club' they belonged to . He will be lookin' more for their availability to do His Will according to His Word. Did they Intimately know and Love Him? Their actions will reveal the truth of their declarations. If you already love Him and are seekin' Him with your whole heart, then I would'nt worry about which 'religious group' to belong to. Sounds to me like you're already 'grounded in your faith and convictions. If so, then the Holy Spirit of God will lead and teach you what you need to know. The commission of Jesus Christ is simple, "GO and make desciples of all nations" Desciples of what??? Of His message of the good news they witnesses first hand, reguarding God's love, grace, mercy forgiveness, salvation,redemption, the hope of ressurrection,the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin,righteousness through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus etc. What has happened is that a 'continual evolution of religions'. has taken many far from the 'basic simple original message'. There is no need for comparisons or competition between the different 'religions. If we say we love Him, then we ought to also love our brothers in Christ, not to mention the lost, for Whom Jesus suffered an died. I just don't understand 'why' there is so much strife and conflict between people who claim to'love' or do they? Sincerely Rose

When we put the lable of a certin religion on someone that doesn't mean they have a certin personality. Everyone has their own. Really everyone believes that their "religion" is the right one. I really don't like that word. As long as you believe in God and belive that his Son died for you then thats all that matters. don't judge someone by their "religion".

You say that you believe in God & am pretty spirtual, then do not screw it up by joing some stupid church. All churchs are bad with bad people. What would God need churchs for?
What are the two things that all churchs want???? Money and power. What the heck would God have any use for money or power, Ya that's right so it must be about the people.

Remember it is what one believes about Christ matters. Do you believe that He is who He says He is? Pray to God in sincerity. Ask Him to give you guidance in this matter. JWs would have you to believe that they believe in the same Jesus that we do, the son of God. But what do they mean by "son". They also call Satan a fallen "son" of God. However, Jesus can not sin because He is God the Son, so Jesus and Satan cannot possibly be equal. Pray first. Please.
