Will getting a personal trainer one day a week help with building muscle and a better routine on off days. If not how many days a week should I pay for a PT to build muscle. I have currently run into a problem with getting much out of workouts on my own.

While personal trainers can be very helpful, I refuse to spend money on one. When I joined Gold's Gym, I got 3 free visits with a PT and took advantage of all three visits. After that, I've been on my own. I have cheated though, they have a trainer who's sole job is to walk around the gym and answer questions or help anyone who asks for help. I've used her several times to help me rev up my workouts, without having to drop a single dime to pay her for her time, which can get expensive. I know some of the trainers at Gold's charge upwards of $25 an hour. No thank you.

If you plan on using a personal trainer, make sure you get one that you like and feel comfortable with. But don't think that training at the gym one day a week will produce immediate results. You'll have to work our several times a week to make those results happen. If you only see a PT once a week, spend that time pusing yourself, then the rest of the week, keep up with your PT's workout, but at your own pace. You should see results soon enough.

1 day a week can work. But you have to work as hard as your trainer pushes you each time you workout.

Rather than paying for a PT try to find a workout partner. You can then push each other!

One day a week is not going to do anything.
