This is a real hard one, but can someone be arrested for making fun of somebody. Or looking good around someone because some people are intimidated by good looking girls/guys. I know they can not be arrested but what are the jury instructions in California for intimidate. It is really vague, because a person can say they feel intimidated or yelling at me makes me feel intimidated. It has to be more than that or else we are all in a world of trouble.

The legal definition is something to the effect of: to cause someone to act a particular way through force or threat of force.

The specific definition varies by state, and the jury instructions would vary depending on the nature of the charge.

Intimidation is usually part of an Assault charge. If I threaten you with bodily harm, the threat certainly intimidates but is only part of the act that is a threat. Mere size can intimidate some, but since there is no threat being issued, there is no criminal act.

Intimidation is the use of threats -- verbal or physical -- with the intent to inflict fear or injury in order to affect the actions of another person. If you're not being directly threatened, you're not a victim of intimidation.
