Fender Squire. Good quality, good price, good for beginners to intermediate.

Don't buy off Ebay. go to ur local music shop & see what's around in ur price range. Play a few, or get the assistant (or a friend) to play them for u. It's the best way to make ur decision. Hope this helps

definitely Fender Squire. back about seven years ago i got my squire and a nice little amp for about 150 bucks. the amp didn't give out on me until last year. it was very good quality for the money.

If its an electric you're looking for- get an old Peavey. -If it's an accoustic/electric-can't beat an Applause (nice case, too) Both can be found in that price range in Ebay.
