That is a rather silly question. Religion is more often good than evil, look at how many millions of dollars, and more importantly, millions of hours of time, are invested by Americans of religious background.
Slaves? I think a vegan is more likely to be a slave to their 'religion' than someone more conventionally viewed as being religious. "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and render unto God which is God's". That isn't slavery, it is logic and common sense.

And why does that bother the other people so much? I can see that the most intolerant religion in the world is Atheism. Those zealots are more intolerant than the Muslim Extremists. Such hate. Such loathing. The Atheists on these forums are wound way to tight. Atheists claim they don't want religion forced on them. But look how they force their religion on others.

We choose to because,
" Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teaching s of the lord Jesus christ" (-The Family: A proclamation to the world)
The closer to God you get the happier you are. God gave us rules and commandments to help show us the way to happiness. Not to torture or force. The results of not obeying bring unhappiness. but since he loves you, he lets you find out for yourself, you choose.

Hmmm, you might want to read the bible again, Or for the first time perhaps.
In any case, Jesus came to set the captives FREE!
I'm free to live my life as I choose. Free from religion, (that's right religion), free from sin, (that's still a work in progress), and free to live in peace, joy and forgiveness.
If this is slavery, hey, it's better than what you've got to offer!

I agree with the part about them choosing. But choosing to be slaves is a contradiction. They make up their minds and have their conviction. At least after they turn 18.

I used to be a slave of sin.
Jesus Christ set me free.
Now I'm happy doing the right thing, by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Personally, I grew tired of being a slave to sin. I am now free...much more than I ever was before!

There is a vast difference between people who are slaves of religion and those that are servants of God. God did not make religions...they are the creation of man.
See God first...and he will lead you.

It's like the oil add that the mechanic says I will see you now or see you later(referring to changing your oil or burning up your engine). I believe you are going to come to God now or later. If it's later you have a lot of trouble to experience in the meantime. "every knee will bow"
