from what i read, there was an image in the painting that you could only see at certain angles and lighting. similar to the movie Da Vinci Code

I tried to go to the websites to see for myself, but they shut them down.

It was very commen for an artist to paint over artwork that he didn't like. A canvas was expensive and could not be wasted. Don't read more into it than there is. Da Vinci kept lots of journals and writings...I doubt he would have done anything with a secret meaning behind it. The book is a joke. Do your research for the other side of the story.

Someone has discovered there are very intriguing images that appear when you view the image forward over top of the image reversed. A man with a baby appears and a Knight Templar. Google it in News ... There are great pics. Pax - C

There's this thing about looking at the painting in a mirror, but that painting was made AGES after it really happened!

Artists are NOTORIOUS for doing strange things!

It was about extra people showing up when you mirrored the painting and up it on top of the original.

I reproduced the effect and...I don't see it.
