Jesus was crucified and died as related in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They detailed the events leading to, and the crucifixion of Jesus, and His burial and resurrection. Except for Luke, all of them were first generation Christian disciples and eyewitnesses and ministers of the word.

Did you know that the Holy Spirit Himself revealed to several people that Jesus was crucified on August 17? I first heard this in 1983 but only checked it out when we connected to the Internet in 1999. After four years of research, I found out that August 17 is true and correct. The year was 1 BC. Results of my study are in http://www.geocities.com/peacecrusader888/crucifyidx.htm .

This coming August 17 will be the 2007th death anniversary of Jesus. The year we are presently using therefore is not from His birth but from His death.

Did you know that the Muslims do not even believe that Jesus was crucified?

How about you—when do you think was Jesus crucified?

Why do you think will the Holy Spirit stake His credibility by giving a crucifixion date that may be proven wrong? Did you know that I could have withdrawn my belief in Him had I proven Him wrong? He did not only give this crucifixion date. He also gave the date when Jesus was born--May 23. I found this date to be true and correct as well. The year was 33 BC. Two out of two correct dates. 100% correct. Who do you think knows what happened in the past and what will happen in the future?

Interesting read. I am a former R.C. looking for a divine but also historical Jesus. I learned alot so far. I do believe in the divinity of Jesus (as the traditional SON of God) but I always felt historical events were a miss. I also learned recently that all the other gospels were written in the mid second century & the earliest gospel to be found was Mark written about 70 AD In fact the earliest versions of Mark ended like this:

I'm gonna star your post & eventually copy the website's info. This'll piss off my family for sure!

Along with the other historical problems others have mentioned, the Gregorian calendar, established by Gregory the Great, begins with the birth of Jesus as year zero. To make Jesus' death to be year zero changes everything.

That's pretty much impossible from a historical standpoint. Christ's birth is sometime around 4 B.C. which would make him about 3 years old. Also, Pilate's regency over Palestine was much later than 1 B.C. From a historical standpoint, I don't think it is very tenable

actually i believe i heard Jesus was crucified in the spring time because they found pollen from plants and flowers on the Shroud of Turin that only pollinate during the spring ..... Though the shroud may not actually be the actual shroud that covered Jesus after his crucifixion, i believe in my heart that it is...so my guess is sometime in the early spring....not sure of an exact date though.

You must be referring to some other spirit.

I know the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a friend of mine. And your spirit is wrong ... so it's obviously NOT the spirit you think it is.

"When do you think was Jesus crucified?"

Here's an idea, why don't we ask when Hercules killed the Hydra? Or when Hercules died?
