Afraid that everything that you've believed ends up not being there? More specifically I'm speaking of religion. I am Catholic and believe in life after death, but if there is nothing after death? if we just die and then nothing happens. Sure life goes on because there is still life, but for an individual the universe begins and ends with their birth and death. Even if my religion is wrong, I just wish that there will be something whaiting for us when we die and not just stop existing. Does anyone else ever feels like this? I know that after some people have been declared dead. they come back to life saying that they saw a light and that they were walking towards it. Has any of these people come back from death after their brain had stoped? Anyways, I've been having this toughts for like 2 days now and is hard to go to sleep thinking that all which I love, family and friends, could be lost forever after death? I wish and hope for everything in the bible to be true, meanwhile i believe

This fear occurs to me very rarely and for short periods of time, last time I tought of this was like 4 years ago and it happened for like about a week, but now that is happening again, I decided to see what you think? and no I'm not crazy, in case anyone thinks I am, I just happen to overthink a lot of things, and fortunately or unfortunately, this is one of them.

A lot of truth seekers go through this. It's actually a good thing. (The moment someone says, I believe, he stops seeking.) You need to know this on your own, not just because that's what someone else said. You need to know it in your heart of hearts, because you found the truth. Beyond what any book could tell you. I remember going through something similar, years ago. It was a painful process. Kind of like hell. Being taken away from the presence of God, without any hope of return.

Who said you were crazy? Fear of death is one of the few things that we all have in common, at one time or another. Personally, I do not believe in life after death. I've thought long and hard about it, and I'm ok with it. I would not want to live, literally, forever.
Think about it: you die and that's it. You can't miss your family because YOU no longer exist. You're not trapped somewhere, you're not anywhere. You're not thinking or feeling. Instead of thinking about the stuff you'll miss, what about the stuff you won't? No more colds, traffic accidents, stubbed toes, dental appointments, gas pain, just to name a few.
Wondering if you'll miss life when you're dead is like wondering if you missed life before you were born. The 2 are the same. Indifferent nonexistence. That's fine by me.

This life, we know is real. The next is at best, a hope, but hoping that something is real does not make it real. Personal oblivion is not a pleasant prospect, but it is, I'm sure, quite painless. When I was young, I remember being terrified at the prospect of dieing, not entirely of any fear of being sent to hell, but just of being dead. I'm a bit older now and have come to realize that that it is just the way it is. I don't look forward to being dead, but I can't fear it. We have to accept it or go nuts. If this should in fact be the only life we get, I wouldn't care to waste it worrying over one that does not exist. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, so it seems to me that it behooves us to make the very most of this life here and now and accept what fate may bring us in whatever follows. Live today with joy, it might be all you get.

No sense being afraid. It's there or it's not. Either you are moving towards bliss (in which case Yay! You were right all along) or you are moving towards nothing (in which case it doesn't really matter because once you're gone, you're gone. There's no sense of being let down at the end, there's no sense of anything. It's over.)
What matters isn't what happens after your body expires, it's what you do with the time that you've been given while you're here.

Fear of death is natural. Most people have it, few admit it. Forget about it. You're here now. Don't waste it on thoughts of being planted. You'll find out (or not) when you get there. In the meantime have a scotch or two.
Cheers!

If you believe...then I ask that you develop a personal relationship with God...not just a religious relationship. If you do, I guarantee you that all your fears will be gone. He is very alive...and very real. His hand is on my shoulder every day and every step I take is a step where he walks beside me. It is great...even if I am not always all that I know he wants me to be.
God Bless. Seek God first...and he will lead you.

Were you afraid before you were born? Of course not, because you didn't exist. It'll be the same after you die -- you won't exist.

I wonder to say, if you left the catholic church and learned God's Word, I mean really learned God's Word, think you would still see things the same way?

Have you accepted Christ as your personal Saviour and trusted Him to take you sins and become Lord of your life? if so, don't worry.
