I'm having pantry issues...theres little black bugs in my pasta, rice, flour, bisquick, and cereal. I've found that they are called weevils. I threw everything that was open out last week, cleaned the pantry, and bought new stuff, but today I just opened a new box of rice and there were already some in there. So was wondering if its okay to keep these items in the fridge? I don't know what else to do. Should I call the bug guy or is there an insecticide that will kill them? And how do they get into stuff that hasnt even been opened?

Some of that stuff comes with bug eggs in it, like flour.
You can put the flour, rice, bisquick in the fridge. But I don't know about the cereal and pasta.
Put all your stuff in tight sealing plastic containers and put them in the fridge. The cereal and pasta should be ok if you do that to keep out the moisture.
I freeze all my flour when I bring it home from the store to kill that bug eggs. It only takes 24 hours.
There is some herb or spice or combination that you can sprinkle in your cupboards to keep the bugs away.
I used it once and it worked but I can't remember what it was, sorry.
Maybe you could do a web search and find it.

Was it a new box of rice? If it was already in your pantry, it probably had the weevils in it. Sometimes items you buy at the grocery store have the critters in there You have to go through everything in your pantry and make sure the boxes and plastic are not chewed through. (look for tiny holes) Scrub your shelves with a soapy/bleach solution and invest in plastic containers to keep your food in.

CHECK IT AS SOON AS YOU GET IT FROM THE STORE. It could be their problem, not your pantry! Yes you can keep those items in the fridge I have always kept flour & bisquick in there and im sure it wouldnt hurt the others. sometimes i have to keep my cereal in there too, becasue the ants get into everything! If they start getting into other stuff you have to keep in the pantry id call somebody to come check it out.
Goodluck!!

I wouldn't put rice or pasta in the fridge. The items may absorb water through condensation.
I would call the exterminator. In the meantime, put your food items in tupperwareor big ziplock bags.

Check it when you bring it home from the store.
Get yourself metal or plastic canisters for everything:
Rice, Flour, Sugar, Pasta, etc.
Just like your grandma use'ta!

When I have room, I freeze flour, no bugs can hatch at that temp. You can not avoid those bugs and my flour produces little moths.

get a pot of water, place the smoked cod fillet [chop it up] and baby corn, mangetout[idk what that is], and the sweet peppers [chop them up as well] all in the pot of water. Put some soy sauce and sesame oil at the end and stir it up. You may put noodles or rice in it also.
