After dealing with the system personally on an illegal immigrant situation I realized our laws do more to protect an illegal than deter an illegal. Our basic immigration laws weren't made to handle the situation we now have.So instead of saying enforce the laws shouldn't you really be saying change the laws?

We need to figure out a way having dealt with the system and change the laws.
I have watched people come here legally and then apply for a green card. They receive a letter telling them they will have a resolution within 6 months. Dependent on what category they fall under that can take years, in the mean time they go out of status and are in limbo. The same letter they receive tells them not to leave while their case is pending so they have no idea what to do. In some cases, they end up waiting for 10-15 years before they can get their status adjusted.
An example of just how screwed up the system is take for example someone coming from the Phillipines. A child from a first marriage has turned 21 when his green card holding parent applies for him. If that parent had wanted their child to be with them on a permanent basis as of 2006 he would have had to apply for the child from 1988.

I don't know how much we can do on this side of border when Mexico gov in some cases help people come here illegally. And bunch of people from South America come here through Mexico-US borders. So it's not just Mexicans that come through our southern border. I think they did have immigration law overhauls in past. Really non made any significant changes. We either need to guard southern border all out with military or get Mexico to stop dumping people into our country. It's too easy to just walk in here.

Absolutely the system is broken we need to look at what went grossly wrong with the issue and start from there...and to do that we need to look at what causes migration, what laws caused the situation to be worse instead of better and how can we benefit the country with immigration and what the laws should and should not be. Waiting 12 years to bring a child is never acceptable

The whole system is so full of bureaucratic crap that it's too complicated to work the way it is. Enforcing the laws would be a start, but it really is a mess.
Maybe you're right. It really could use a complete revamping. (like our tax code, social security and the public school system.)
I think we need to plug the holes before bailing out the boat. Or rebuilding the boat, in this case.

interior of right here couple of years unemployment skyrockets as agencies close down or circulate distant places because of the fact they now no longer will pay the better taxes, the forced wellbeing care reward and the forced unionization. huge numbers will seek for government advice, it is going to weigh down the gadget because of the fact the outflow is bigger than influx of money. The governement steps in to purchase up the remainder agencies. Chaos ensues as usa starts off a downward slide right into a third international usa and right into a achieveable communist state. Then the President enacts martial regulation by employing the Civilian national secure practices stress to maintain the conventional public from revolting all weapons are confiscated in an attempt to maintain administration. on the heels of martial regulation emerges a clean government one no longer certain by using the election technique or the form. usa is perpetually "replaced".

They were created to lure immigrants in, as cheap labor is needed. Anyone that thinks our current law works is living in a bubble.

Therefore, you've answered you own question. As for me, I simply look at the masses huddled in the Seven-Eleven parking lot and I know how ineffective our immigration laws are.
