The swastika (from Sanskrit svástika स्वास्तिक ) is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles, in either right-facing (卐) or left-facing (卍) forms. The term is derived from Sanskrit svasti, meaning well-being. The Thai greeting sawasdee is from the same root and carries the same implication.
It is a widely-used symbol in Dharmic religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism).
Archaeological evidence of swastika shaped ornaments goes back to the Neolithic period.

That Nazi symbol is a lot older then that.... It was a religious mystical symbol that was used in the Far East many, many years before Westerner turned it into it current meaning... Also a little know fact is there was an American Army Division that also wore that same design patch on their shoulders.... There is no doubt that the German during WW-II, Did things That totally went against nature of humanity...... And for what they did to not only their own but to humanity itself.... The Nazi should not have been allowed to advance beyond the stone ages..... And to allow that flag to wave in free air should be and is an added insult to every member of the human race That existed during WW-II and after, And never again should that flag be allowed to be seen by human eyes............... And even a member of the Neo Nazi Party like yourself should understand what the American Nazi Party stands for...... And freedom and peace and love of your fellow man and freedom of religion still does not exist in their ideals nation.. And did you know that America and Germany are the only two countries where they can exist....... For every other country would kill them like the vermin they repersent......................................................................

The swastika is a symbol of peace, the Nazis used one that was backwards. If the government will not allow swastikas to be displayed, they are really discriminating against peace(and that is something that they do so well).

I don't know where you got your information on this, but one of the government building in my city has it incorporated into the mosaic floor. The building was built in the twenties before the Nazis became prominent enough to be noticed in this country. Still, if there was some kind of prohibition on it they could have changed or covered up the design.

The WIkipedia article is unquestionably superb: i prefer to propose it to you. There are particularly some theories as to the place it comes from, and this is been utilized in many techniques, in many circumstances linked with faith, with the help of many diverse cultures in Asia, North u.s. and someplace else, for a minimum of 10,000 years. it particularly is a disgrace that the emblem has grow to be so heavily linked with the evil which Nazi-form of thinking represents.

In general the nazi party goes against what our country was founded on. It is a shame that such a holy symbol was raped of its original meaning, though... :'-(

yes, and rightfully so.
tolerance is good, but if we tolerate intolerance, that undermines other tolerance. therefore a little bit of intolerance against the intolerant preserves the greater tolerance of all.
