The bank I worked at hired at $9/hour for tellers and $9.25 for personal bankers (customer service/sales rep are a personal banker)...this was in Michigan

The bank I work for in Colorado hired at $11.25 for a teller(remember that at that point I had experiance, so that is not their starting wage for no experiance.

With no experiance (which I am assuming because you say you are looking at getting into the industry) you will not get hired in as a personal banker or anything higher than a teller...banking is a highly regulated industry and you need to know and understand the regs before you can move up, so with out a diploma in finance the best you can hope for is to start as a teller...the positive is that it isn't that hard to move up in banking once you learn your stuff!

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
