Doesn't bother me at all. People say a lot of things in the heat of the moment that they later regret and apologize for. I refuse to drop to their level by calling them something in return.

If they are calling me a pig then they are clearly acting disorderly - they'd get locked up for sure!
If they are talking about other cops in general then I'd try to reason with the person so as not to paint us all with the same brush and remind them of the good things cops can do.

These poor guys put their lives on the line for us and deal with society's worst for not enough pay. I'm not a cop, but it bothers me when I hear them referred to as pigs.

ms_stolli is a typical cop.
It's perfectly LEGAL to call a cop a pig- or flip one off, for that matter.
But they will still arrest you for it.
Do you know what "disorderly conduct" means?
It means you haven't done anything illegal, but we're gonna bust you anyway!
"Resisting arrest" frequently falls into the same category.

first time it happened to me, I was issuing a citation to a driver at the side of the road, a school bus drove by and some punk yelled out "pig", I started laughing so hard I couldn't finish the citation and let the guy go with a warning.

make sure they get plenty of tickets. I bet they run out of breath before I run out of ink lol
