It sounds like your dog's adult teeth have come in before the baby teeth could come out. This is pretty common in small breeds, like Chihuahuas and Yorkies. Your vet may need to pull the baby teeth. This requires anesthetic, so if your dog hasn't been neutered yet, you can have the teeth and the neuter done at the same time.

Many times small breed dogs do not lose their puppy teeth completely and retain some, alongside the adult teeth. Food material can build up in between the two sets of teeth and really cause dental disease, which can lead to sepsis and organ disease. In addition to infection, the dog's teeth will not fit together correctly (upper and lower) and will give the dog a crooked bite.

It's important to get the puppy teeth out as soon as you can. If the dog is scheduled for a neuter/spay surgery then the vet can remove the teeth at the same time (one anaesthetic needed only). Whatever the case, those baby teeth need to come out if the dog has a complete set of adult teeth.

The dog has retained his baby teeth. This is very common in toy breeds. You need to schedule an appointment with your vet to have the baby teeth removed,or they will cause him problems later on,as food will accumulate between the teeth and cause terrible breath, and dental problems. It's also uncomfortable for him. I had a Chihuahua who had this.I got him when he was 6,and the baby teeth had pushed his adult teeth outwards,so they were crooked, and he had all kinds of gunk in between them, and bad gums.I had the baby teeth removed and his other teeth cleaned and he was fine.

This is common in toy breeds. How old is he? It sounds like his puppy teeth have not fallen out yet--which they should by 6 months old. If he is older than that, then your vet can remove them under anesthesia. If you leave them in they will cause his bite to be off and the other teeth to come in crooked. It also predisposes him to dental disease much sooner. Are you going to have him neutered? That is the time we usually remove these teeth--it's a simple thing to do.

No, it's the baby teeth not falling out. This is common in little dogs. You might have to have them pulled. The vet doesn't charge much for this, and if you do it at the same time that you have them neutered (which you will do) then they won't even know it happened.

This happens sometimes with small breeds. If the baby teeth do not come out on their own, they will need to be pulled by the vet. This is not a result of bad breeding. It is just something that happens sometimes with small breed dogs. In my 9 yr of breeding, only one of my pups had this problem.

No this may not be normal, or the adult teeth may just be growing out before the baby teeth fall out. This should still be checked out by a veterinarian.

Cause her baby teeth haven't come out like they are supposed to.. you'll likely have to take her in and have them removed.
