Tell me about it...
While I know that it's not all Christians that go around telling people what they should and shouldn't do or believe, the ones that do are idiots.
Just look at the majority of people who already answered this question, or rather didn't. Make the suggestion that they may be wrong and they get defensive.
What's sad is that the fundimental portion want "equal rights" for creationism in schools yet when you suggest that every religion's creation story be taught equally they soon argue against their own suggestion.

American Christianity is evolving - an inerrant-Biblical belief system is infecting the Evangelical Protestants to the point where they would not even consider you as a Christian, nor any Catholic. This very vocal and very active minority is converting American Protestantism into more of a political ideology than a religion - they seem to think they can legislate individual beliefs; that a state religion is a good thing; that they can hasten the Apocalypse through political maneuvering; that America is the new Jerusalem.

Well, you certainly show open mindedness.
"It is known that nearly every culture in the world has stories or legends from which one could almost write the Book of Genesis. Most cultures have a story about a worldwide flood similar to Noah’s Flood. Creation legends—not dissimilar to the account in Genesis regarding the creation of woman, the entrance of death, and the original man and animals being vegetarian (Gen. 1:29, 30)—abound in cultures around the world. This is powerful evidence that these stories have been handed down generation after generation. The true accounts are in the Bible, but the similarities in cultures around the world are not what you would expect from the viewpoint of an evolutionary belief system.
I recall being taught that the reason the Babylonians (and others) had stories similar to Genesis was because the Jews had borrowed myths of Babylonian origin to include with their writings. However, when this idea is closely investigated, we find that the Babylonian stories are rather grotesque and quite unbelievable in almost every aspect. For instance, Babylonian stories concerning the flood have gods cutting each other in half and water spewing out. When you read the biblical account of the flood, it is certainly the more reasonable. When one thinks about it, stories handed down generation after generation that are not carefully preserved—particularly if they are handed down by word of mouth—do not improve with age. The truth is lost and the stories degenerate markedly. The biblical records have been handed down in written form, carefully preserved by the superintendency of God and have not been corrupted. The Babylonian stories, which only reflect the true record of the Bible, are the ones that have become corrupted, due to the limitations of human fallibility."

Christians are completely open minded and believe in examing the evidence before believing. The story of Christ is recorded in the 2000 year old New Testament historical documents written by eyewitnesses of the life of Christ. Compare this to the modern Jews who follow the Babylonian Talmud. The Talmud was compiled in about 300 A.D. and is filled with ridiculous myths and fables invented by disgruntled rabbis who had an axe to grind with Jesus and Christians. They invented their stories centuries after the events had actually occurred.

Give me solid evidence that there is no God and that the world evolved. It's easy to ask questions, but not to give an answer isn't it? The Christian faith has lasted longer than any other but Judaism, and they both have the same creation story. Longevity talks...

Ignorant????
Everything on earth has a creator except nature...
You know there is rarely a rule that has an exception with that great of a flaw in it...
See if you understand that God is creator and can work in the earth you would understand that virgin birth is possible with God...
Question everything.

so let me get this straight....
we are insufficiently knowledgable because we believe it was our God who created all? if you told a Hindu Vishnu wasn't real, they would be offended. if you told a pagan their deities are demons, they would be offended. so why are we ignoranbt if we choose to concur with Genesis 1:1?
