Im starting College soon, and I was wondering about what classes would help for a job in Federal Law enforcement.
I was thinking about possibly a job in ICE (Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) or the FBI.
My thoughts are to double major in Criminal Justice and Computer Science at SUNY Brockport.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Especially from those actually in law enforcement jobs!

I wouldn't personally suggest a degree in criminal justice. My father has one, and tells me that it is really barely relevant to patrol work. Everything you need to know will be taught to you in whatever academy for whatever agency you go to. Double majoring anything with computer science...that may be suicide..computer science will suck your life away! I've got a business major, and it helps in supervisnig your subordinate officers.

Major in something you enjoy, because if you hate law enforcement, have PTSD, get injured, can't work, you have a backup career that you enjoy. Hope that helps.

sounds like your on the right track usually the government agencies like for someone to have degrees in different fields other than criminal justice, go to their website and look at job postings and the criteria
