The market is freshest.
As for brands, I don't buy branded meat, I get mine direct from the farmers (in fact hitting the local farmers market later today)

Meat market would have the freshest because grocery stores will have it sit out a lot longer. Meat markets usually sell what comes in that day.
I buy mine at the grocery store because we don't have a meat market close by.

Animals are breed for this purpose and most are fed food containing growth hormones etc... to speed the process up. Chickens are a prime example of this where from hatching to cooking is approx 6 weeks. Since this has become the norm, if you want meat where the animal was raised normally in a field with fresh grass etc.. then that's organic meat. An organic chicken is 13 weeks or older I think.

I would think a meat market or butcher would be freshest. I typically buy chicken frozen from Giant Eagle. I won't buy meat at Walmart. I think there's something wrong with that.

I meat market provides the freshest meats. They usually get fresh meat daily. There is little or no shipping time involved.

Grocery stores usually receive poultry shipments every three days. Most meat markets do not carry poultry. I recommend the grocery store.

We are lucky enough to have a farm near by that raises chickens. That is the freshest you can get.The difference in taste and texture from supermarket chicken is amazing.

I would say a meat market for the simple fact that the product sells faster and is replaced with fresh replacements.

Meat markets would be a little fresher, but I buy mine at the supermarket, usually Tyson.
