I am not a proffessional, BUT I remember when I was a teenager - my mom getting advice from the dentist and we all had to brush with a wet tooth brush dipped in a baking soda/salt mixture, and then rinse with peroxide. Being careful NOT to swallow the peroxide. I don't beleive that there are any harmful side effects from this, but again I am NOT a proffessional. Our neighbour works at a health food store and she soaks her finger nails in peroxide when they look yellow (she quit smoking now). Hope this helps. Sue

Wet Baking soda with the hydrogen peroxide and brush your teeth. the only thing is, it can be hard on the gums, so brush gently, and don't do it very often.
My mom's been doin this since the 1960's and her teeth look good.

Honey, I promise you I use peroxide for everything. If my throat hurts I gargle in it, if my ears hurt I put some in them, and yes I use it as a teeth whitener. If I was stranded on a deserted island and I could have one medicine it would be peroxide. They need me to make a commercial for them.

I used to use it periodically, and while it did in fact make my teeth a lot whiter, it also irritated my gums pretty badly. I found that if i diluted it quite a bit and and didn't do it too often, everything was fine.
