I currently have some missionary friends here from South Africa. He is an ER nurse, and pastor. forget about being a missionary and pushing your beliefs onto other cultures. Just go and do what you do best, there is more need for that. Check out Doctors without borders or the UN, etc. Do some research, you are obviously smart enough.

There are places that train you to become a missionary. New Tribes Missions is one. They have different schools to train you to go out into the field. They do need Nurses badly. I talk to our missionaries all the time. I keep in contact with them and they share what is going on in their lives and what we can pray for, for them. What a blessing it is for me to have a part in their ministry. There are over 30 missionaries to keep in contact with from our church.
