Confession is the admitting that you did something wrong. It is admitting that you sinned against God. Confession is the first step repenting. To repent literally means to turn. Imagine yourself in the middle of a hallway. There is a down in front of you and there is a door behind you. The one in front of you says "sin" on the frame. The one behind you says "God". You have a choice which one you choose. If you go to the one in front of you, then your back is to God. If you go to the one labeled God, then your back is to sin. To repent is to turn your back on sin and go toward God. It means that you 1) Confess your sins. You admit that you were wrong. 2) You ask for God's forgiveness, and 3) You ask for God's help to strive to follow the right path rather than the path of the world (sin). Hope this helps.

Confessing your sin's is telling God about what you did wrong and asking for forgiveness. Repentance is turning away from your sins and not do them again. Being human you may end up doing the same thing again, but don't give up. Being a christian doesn't make us perfect. It makes us saved.

To confess your sins is to tell your pastor/God that you are aware that you have sinned. To repent is to try not to do it again, to find better ways, and if necessary, to make amends. Confession without repentance is like talk without action - a whole lot of not much at all.

To confess your sins is to pray and admit them to God and ask for forgiveness. To repent, means literally to turn from them. So confession is the first step to repentence.

They are part of the same process but they are different. To confess our sins is to share them with another. This might be to God in prayer, to your priest, or to another Christian.
To repent is to turn from our sins and seek to change our life so we don't seek again.

Confessing is saying that you did that sin, repenting is saying that you are sorry for that sin...that is a good question! If you have any more questions about Christianity....e-mail me at jesus.roxmyworld@yahoo.com

Confessing sins is acknowledging your responsibility for them to the Lord.
Repenting of your sins is to turn away from them.
To repent is to turn 180 degrees around and go the other way.

"confessing your sins" as I know it is a 'bodily' thing, to the church. since the church is like a family, a good family encourages eachother, condoles eachother and is honest. so if someone has sinned.....
repentance is the first step. you go to God and apologize, continue to work at killing the sinful nature ( so you no longer respond to it), and have a change of heart, as to not repeat the sin or any sin for that matter. you always confess your sins to God
I'd say confessing outwardly is more of a family issue. for example, if you hurt someone in the church in any way, you should apologize to them personally and ask their forgiveness. if you sin against the body, apologize to the body.

confessing and repenting are the same. You just have to turn away from the sins you are confessing and start a new life without it. Yes we slip back, but if you have the Holy Spirit with you, He will let you know if you are doing wrong. He is like our conscience when things go wrong or we are tempted by Satan. God never tempts us.
