Yes, it is all occult, and ironically you'll hear Christians saying that involvement in the occult is evil. As an agnostic I don't believe any of this spell casting really works anyway. It's been proven that prayer doesn't help the sick.

Christians don't chant...at all. Praying to God is a different belief entirely, and it's not reciting the same thing over again. It's like having a conversation with Him. And we're not trying to alter our reality, but we pray for God's will to be done. He knows a lot better what we need than we do. And of course, we have faith in Him. That's the strongest difference. If you study the Bible, you might understand the difference.
EDIT: Prozacnation, 1) we don't seclude ourselves exclusively. Anyone is welcome, including you. 2) Brainwashing is forcing a change in someone's attitude. We wouldn't want someone to be forced to believe; that would be false faith and wouldn't help anyone. (If you follow #1 and go to church, you'll see that.) 3) Since we are all Christians incl. Linda J, she obviously wouldn't know anything about spells, including to whom they are directed.

Prayer, Spell...What's the difference? Everything you do in service of a religion or even where there is no religion, per se (meditation), is just a manifestation of your thoughts. Are recited lyrics a chant? Yes, if you expect an outcome by reciting them. Whether its a bible verse or a particular poem that moves you or a spell you've created, it's all the same thing.

Well, I'm a Christian and I think that althougth you are just looking for an arguement, you have a good point. Jesus actually warned of exactly what you mention in your question. He warned against "vain repetitions" like the pagans practiced. A sincere prayer is not a spell. God commands His followers to pray as much for their benefit as His, we grow closer to Him as we focus on His Perfect Will for our lives.

Our Father, who art in heaven is not to enhance Good luck it is about reverence and since God knows our heart intent he will know how we are approaching him, he is not a vending machine nor lucky charm...

in case you felt the spirit of God there, then pray on the situation and study yet another circulate to, yet take it slowly. in case you probably did no longer sense the spirit of God there and and are merely curious, stay away. i'm unlikely to enable you comprehend that demons do no longer exist and that i circulate to enable you comprehend that somewhat mind-blowing issues are achieveable with God, by way of fact i comprehend that demons do exist and that mind-blowing issues do happen once you're with God. I do ought to warn you that loads of church homes that are continuously occurring approximately that stuff continuously are no longer very truthful. Demons and miracles exist, yet are no longer accepted. in the event that they have an exorcism each month and a few magic miracle each provider, you're in all probability dealing with con artists particularly than adult males of God. Now in case you probably did sense the holy spirit once you visited, you may circulate circulate to returned, yet save your techniques on and your look after up (and your techniques open--in case you have met people who comprehend the spirituality of God extra valuable than maximum Christian sects, you will possibly have got here across an mind-blowing place to worship). a solid sound equipment can furnish the phantasm of God's presence, and the con artists have loads of different hints too. Sorry i can not supply a a hundred% answer--i think of it somewhat is a ninety 5% probability they're attempting to con you. looking people, extraordinarily in a church, that are in such close touch with God that they are able to do the failings interior the Bible that apostles can do is uncommon yet they do exist. looking people who pretend it is so plenty extra elementary.

In my opinion, spells are usually different than prayers.
Prayer is one asking a deity to help them, whereas a spell is when one used magick to help themself.
However, I suppose that the two could be virtually the same thing if one asks a deity to help them to help themself while doing a spell; or when one prays to a deity to help them help themself.

So in other words, you can't see the difference between prayers, and spells?
I know that prayer is communicating with God, but I'm not sure if you could say that's what the same as a spell.

Are you the only one who thinks this is clever to switch the word "spell" for "prayer"? If you don't believe in God, and intercessory prayers to God, then it seems very odd that you believe in spells and attribute them to Christians.
