I wouldn't be okay with the idea of increasing my utility bill because of some inconsiderate dolt next door who can't understand the concept of "disturbing the peace". I would muster up the guts to ask them nicely, perhaps something to the effect of, "Hey guys, wouldja mind turning that down a bit -- I work a graveyard shift/have to get up early/insert random universally understandable empathy-inducing reason here". If your neighbors are reasonable people, this should work. If not, make sure that they really are being unreasonable in their loudness, and call the appropriate authorities. Of course, no police officer likes going out to noise complaint calls, but it is part of the job, and yes, you can remain anonymous. If your neighbors are that unapproachable, might I suggest moving to a safer/more palatable neighborhood if possible? Good luck, and don't bend over backwards to accommodate the inconsiderate behavior of others.

Just knock on their door and say you are happy they're having fun, but you don't enjoy listening to their music/TV. If all fails, call the police. A lot of parties get ended casue the police shut them down from the noise.

No, its not going to work or at least not forever anyway. Youre just gonna have to tell them, I know its not easy and you feel kinda bad when you ask but its the only way. Tell them why you need them to lower the volume and if that doesnt work then just call the cops and tell them that they refuse to lower it. If its past ten o clock they have no right to put it that loud as thats when many parties end or are supposed to anyway.

Yes, I wish I had air conditioner to block their annoying, vulgar and obscene music. But using a big fan can help too, or even wearing earplugs.
You can try asking them for a third time. If they keep annoying you, call the police.

I know what you mean. But maybe you didnt tell them nice enough. Have a smile on your face and say Im really sorry but i work graveyard or my baby is sleeping, I have a very important phone call that im expecting could you please lower your radio, id really appreciate it, and then say im sorry if only these walls werent paper thin you could enjoy your music. That way they know next time not to put it so loud because you can hear everything with the paper thin walls!

They are allowed to be loud between approximately 10am-10pm. Otherwise, I'd call the manager. If you're in a house, you could leave a nice note in their mailbox, or in the front door. If that doesn't help, you'd have to get some bal!s and knock on their door and hope they're nice people.

Call the police. If there is a non emergency number listed in the phone book use that one. Worked for me.

Leave them alone. We use box fans also along with central air. I rather have talking neighbor's than angry ones at me. Anytime you can keep peace, keep peace. It is not worth making them angry at you, just block the noise with fans or fountain machines(like the ocean sounds)They may file false complaints on you and you may get evicted. Keep the Peace.

We don't need a/c where I live.
Besides, I'm the one with the loud music.
Just ask me. I'll turn it down.
