You replace the little rubber "boots" that are placed on the bottom of the case of your computer, that keeps the computer from vibrating on the desk or floor. Every once in a while, those boots wear out and you need to reboot the computer.

They usually wear out whenever something you do affects the operating system -- updates system files, installs drivers, or such. The boots really get shaken up a bit. You don't realize it because the boots are there. But if you took those boots off, you'd hear the computer rattling and rumbling like crazy.

When the computer tells you to reboot, it just reminding you that it's getting about time for those boots to be replaced. Kinda nice for the computer to do that for you.

reboot is no the the same as a reformat a reboot is a computer restart (a warm reboot is when you tell the computer to restart, a cold reboot is turning the power on its possible to damage electrical and electronic components by turning on & off, but its unlikely.... if you press the reset button or turn the power off unexpectedly that can cause software faults. reformatting refers to reinstalling the original software on the disk. that will not do any damage to the components of the computer. it will however almost certainly erase all your programs and data (includign any music, video, and any other settings. so make sure you do a back up before you reformat or anything that is vital for you. you cannot backup programs... you need to reinstall the software from the original disks or downloads

Reboot is refered to restarting the computer these days.

Reinstalling is the word I think your searching for, the best suggestion I can offer is to backup all your files.
(onto CD or another storage device)

And do a system restore to an earlier time.

Hope that helped

To reboot is just a simple case of shutting down and starting up your PC.
Or just select Restart.

press Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose restart. While sometimes this doesn't work, I just cut off the power directly. Restart can't solve your problem. your computer becomes slow, it because there are too many trash files on your computer. Visit your hard drive C and delete those Tem files. This does help.

All you have to do is turn off the computer, wait for about 20 seconds and turn it back on.
