I decided to wait till next summer to get a car. Actually, i will be 17, not 16 by then. We decided to get a brand new car so i dont have to worry about fixing used cars. I'm not really wealthy or poor. What would be a good car for me?? i want a suv type of a car or no hatchbacks....Give me some ideas, it can be diverse or what not.IDC....Im just looking for ideas......so far ive looked at honda civics, jettas, toyota prius(if i spelled that right), BMWs, the new nissan altima coupe, im not too sure........my range is 15000-25000 with a few exceptions..So tell me what all of you people think! Thank You

At 16? or 17? I can't believe you are buying a new car at that age. Do you know how many cars I wrecked from age 16 to 21 maybe like 5 of them yeah I would just buy a used one for the time being till you start learning how to drive and be careful. just an opinion ok hope this helps

A new car for a 16/17 yr old is a really bad idea. The insurance alone should be enough to dissuade you.
Get an older Saab or Volvo. Fantastic 1st cars for teens. A bit pricey to fix/maintain, but they're built like tanks. They'll protect you in all but the worst of accidents.

If you are set on a NEW car, go shopping and take your insurance agent's number with you to get quotes right away for insurance rates, you will be surprised how much a four door vs. a coupe or sporty car will vary. We purchased a used pontiac grand am gt for our teenagers to share and the insurance on it was bareable. Try looking at a car that is one or two years old, you will get more car for your (and your parents) money and it is still a new car probably with warrenty coverage still.

I want to know how a 17 year old has a budget of 25 grand to spend on a FIRST car. My first car at 16 was a 5k pontiac which I loved, but 25k? Lots of adults can't even afford such an auto.

might try blazers or ford explorers with a 6 cylindar enegine plenty of leg room can get them in 4 door or 3.door. depends on what you are going to do with it. just around town the ford explorer is good, if you plan to go to college the blazer is better more room to pack stuff
