I have a group of friends were really close. We've been friends before we could walk and we always help each other with fashion and boyfriends and just life in general. But as of late I really like to like this guy at our school except they think he's a total dork and would ditch me if I dated him. please help.

You should tell them that if they were your real friends that they wouldn't threaten your friendship over a boyfriend. If you like this boy, why is it any of their business anyway? Do you tell them who the can and can't date? Why should they be able to run your life in that way?? True friends let you make your own choices and if they are mistakes then the true friends are there to make sure you are okay...

Don't let your friends ruin an experience that may be great for you. I have quite a few years behind me, and friends come and go. If these friends would ditch you for something as lame as this, they are not worth it. A true friend is someone who respects and likes you for who you are, NO MATTER WHAT. If you are having to act a certain way or do certain things for you to be their friend, they are not really friends.

Tell them that you really like this guy and that you would really apprisiate it if they would aprove of him and that its not like you are goin to get married to him n that you would like to give him a shot. Tell them that if you would date the guy it would make you so happy. Say there is no way you would be able to date him with out your friends approval and that it would mean alot to you.
