My dog, Jack, is a 4 1/2 year old lab, boxer, shepard mix, but 80% lab. His nose is usually cold and wet and it's been warm and wet the last couple days. Does he have a cold or the feaver? He comes inside every once in a while and it's like 74 in here compared to 85 outside. He's a very active dog. I take him on at least one long walk per day. We take him on rides, on the boat with us, and he loves to go fishing.

Take the dogs temp. If it is above 102.5, he has a fever. See the vet. If he does not have a fever and is still acting funny, see a vet.

Warm and wet isn't always abnormal. It's the way the dog is acting with it that would make me call the vet just to be on the safe side. With the weather being hot he could just be hot himself and not very energetic. Get a kiddy pool for him to walk thru and lay in and that will help keep him cool also. If you can keep him in the house when it's so hot outside that would also be best. They get hot just like we do and can have a heat stroke also. It's been in the high 80's where I'm at and my dog's nose is warm, but wet and he is just laying around and doesn't want to be bothered much and he is in air conditioning most of the time.

yes a warm dry nose is a sign of fever in a dog. I would wait maybe 2 days and if it does not seem better by then i would go to the vet

Generally, the nose is not a good indicator of a dog's health; however, if he has not been acting like himself, you may want to take him to the vet.
