After years of wonderful experience, I have found that LOVE is not what you feel in the begining of a relationship. The fire and electricity that people feel when a relationship is new is actually called lust. True love is a mutually respectful relationship between two equals. It takes more work than many young people could imagine to keep a loving relationship for a lifetime.
The answer to your question is NO! I am sorry, but what you are feeling is lust. This is a temporary feeling that ends rather quickly. Also, Being your teacher, he is an athority figure, and will never look at you as an equal. I suggest that you find a man your own age, with similar intrests, who will show you proper respect.

It is very common for students to become infatuated with teachers. A great teacher can become a life leader and role model for some who need a strong person in their life and it's easy to want that connection to continue forever. Real love blossoms out of mutual respect and true honesty. I wonder if your friend can talk to this teacher and build on the feelings already developed so long ago.
As a teacher it is easy to fall for students as well. The classroom is a place where true people and true intentions shine through. It would be really wonderful if these 2 people found each other for real after all this time.

the student can be in love the teacher or the little that the student knows about the teacher in question but until they really get to know the other person can someone truly fall deeply in live. Nothing can happen while your friend remains in school but after she completes school and/or is of legal age then can she pursue the feelings that she has towards the teacher.

The student needs to be 18 years old before she says anything. Dreams and fantasies are just that..not reality. Also, although age difference might not matter...unless this is true love, try to understand that a teacher that is superior to a younger student may try to take advantage. Don't let that happen.

well of it being good or bad....it all about the ages by law. say if she were in college and she fell in love with him then i guess its ok. because most people in colllege are at least 18. im guessing its not real lust, but lust. she admires his body language, his looks, his voice, personality, and so on. but from what you wrote she didnt actually go on a date or spend alone time with him or bond. so i dont think its real love. if shes been talking about him for 6 years then maybe she should e-mail him and set up a date if she is too shy to talk in person. i would give it a shot because if there both single what have either one of them got to loose? nothing! if she doesnt do it soon, he will find someone and then she'll kick herself in the a** later for not stepping up. i dont think theres anything wrong unless theres like anything more than.....a 7-8 difference. because my boyfriend is 6 years older than i am. and when we met i was 15. and we got together. and nothing was wrong we really love eachother and thats all that matters. he treats me like a queen. and we have a blast with echother. now im 20 and were still together!!! thats 5 years later...hes 26. but when i was 15 everyone said it was so wrong! well now that im 20 and hes 26 it doesnt seem so wrong does it? i just dont get....anyways tell her good luck and to hurry! hes not going to be single forever! and niether will she.

This is a bad tjing, obviously. But ypur friend would have made a move by now so theres nothing dangerpus about this as long as she knows the consequences if something does happen. It could be real love, love is love. Age doesnt matter to anyone whos in live and they'll.do anything for that person is your friend like this? Maybe she is in love.

It's probably not real love.
I had a terrible crush on my high school biology teacher. He would invite me to his house to watch movies, and drive by the bus stop in the mornings to wave or say good morning to me.
I loved the attention he showed me. Even though now when I look back on it, it seems creepy.
However, I dreamed of him for about 3 years after I was in his class. It was just infatuation.

I don't think it is possible to love people that you haven't had an intimate conversation with. It is just infatuation and your friend will grow out of it...it may just take 6 more years. By the way, teachers lose their job for acting on those kind of feelings.

How can it be real? The teacher has done nothing in return and the student barely even knows the teacher except in an authority situation. Grow up!

I think it's normal for students to develop crushes on their teachers..but love? I certainly think not. What could a student possibly have in common with an adult authority figure like a teacher?
