I made a slideshow and I am going to email it to someone, but I need to know how to make it so that when they open it they go straight to the show and not to the editing screen that I see when I open it.

Hi,

The short answer is to use File > Save As and choose the file type as PowerPoint Show. That puts a .pps file extension on the presentation.

If a presentation has .pps as the extension, when the file is double-clicked the presentation starts to play right away.

However, if you use File > Open from within PowerPoint the file always opens in Normal view for editing whether you use .pps or .ppt file extension.
